  1. I have been using the Dobyns 734c. Quite impressed on sensitivity.
  2. I recently have been loading and unloading out of truck bed with the motor mounted. Have had no issues.
  3. You may want to spring for the 55. You will be glad you did. I have the endura max 55.
  4. Like many others here, I have a transom mount and if you want to run it on the bow, you can remove the bolt on the head unit and turn it 180°. You then will be good to go. Good luck and welcome to the puddle jumpers.?
  5. The exchange program is for an un-used TD. I called and paid over the phone. They gave me a customer number, I sent them my un-used TD and they sent me the HD TD.
  6. I inspect and re-tie as often as needed.
  7. Good looking knot. Don't see anything wrong with that. On mine when I re-tie at home I put a dab of super glue on the half hitch end after cutting the tags. If I have to tie while fishing it doesn't get the glue. Haven't noticed any difference with or without.
  8. It very well could be the problem. I use 50 lb braid and 15 lb fluro leader with no issues. Have read there are some line combinations that this knot will fail.
  9. Fairly new to the site, but long time angler and boater. I'm finally looking to fish as an organized angler, but would rather fish as a co-angler. I have a pond jumper now rigged, but not tournament worthy. I regret selling my big boats but such is life. Any recommendations on clubs in VA. Particularly in the Richmond region as I'm about 40 miles south.
  10. It relaxes me and frees my mind of all the day to day BS.
  11. Get on the Lew's band wagon, shimano is played out.
  12. eBay. I tried to find a cheap used trolling motor on Craig's list and convert it, but couldn't find one any less than $50 bucks.
  13. Went the not so creative route of making a rudder. Bought a $12 oar and $25 bracket.
  14. I was quite surprised myself. I sent it out expecting 2-3 weeks. Sent it out 2 day priority on a Friday and received a confirmation of receipt the following Tues along with return tracking number. Friday evening it was on my porch. May had been one in a 1000, but was quite pleased. I got the 710205-1.
  15. It took mine 8 days including week end from the time I sent mine to the time I received the upgraded TM ducer. I don't recall the part number to verify.
  16. Lew's BB1 Pro 8:1 and custom Lite speed stick heavy.
  17. I'm in the same boat as you, no pund intended. While getting back into fresh water from my 10 year hiatus, in the last three weeks I have started upgrading my arsenal by purchasing 1 Lew's Tournament MB 7:5, BB1 5:xx, BB1 6:4, BB1 8:1, 2 Lew's custom lites and a Dobyns 934. Wife is having a fit.
  18. That depends if I'm pitching grass or wood/open water. Grass straight up braid, wood 15lb fluro leader.
  19. Agree 100% for frogging. My frog rod is the only one I fish straight braid without a leader.
  20. I use finger nail clippers. When they get dull, throw them away and get a new pair.
  21. Like others have said, variety is the spice of life. I fish GLoomis, Lew's, Dobyns and even a couple G2 ugly sticks. All have their specific purpose and meets or exceeds it. I use to do the color coordinated thing, but learned that just because they are coordinated doesn't mean it's right for me.
  22. I also use a separate 9 mah battery enclosed in a water proof Pelican case.
  23. I wouldn't sweat drilling a few holes. I installed a couple rod holders with zero problems. I through bolted them with a sleeve to prevent collapsing the side wall and sealed it with a dab of Marine sealant.
  24. I really love my Lews Custom Lite. Used it this morning for the first time and its a beast. Pulled 4 out of milfoil using a frog and had no problem.
