  1. Not sure if this is the location to post this, but I have an 08 Cougar with the Detwiler hydrolic Jack. I'm adding a HB Helix Mega 10 si at the helm. I'm leaving the 998c in place to use for primarily the map. Need some suggestions on mounting location for said unit and transducer mounting for mega. I did find a L bracket and transducer saver for the Detwiler, but wondering if there will be si interference. Pictures as well would be great. Just trying to stay away from trial and error.

  3. Neither, go with a HB Helix Chirp Mega 9.
  4. Dobyns makes fine rods as mostly what I fish. I have a few Lew's Custom Lites. I broke one by backing my truck to far down the ramp and it Jamed into the tail gate, broke 3" off the tip. I inquired with Lew's customer service and told them the true story and with no questions asked, they had me to cut the model number section out of rod and mail it and a $20 check. Three weeks later had a new rod. So, if I where you call Dobyns and tell them what happened.
  5. I got these in today. All 3 are done by Robert Weiker. He does some great work. He calls it the bleeding shad school...?
  6. The blanks are spro and painted by a couple different guys. Dudley Poteet and Robert Weiker. Here is a few more
  7. Yes they are customs. I have about 20 of them now. Most are glides, but I do have a half dozen of bull shad customs.
  8. I just got into swim bait fishing and here are some customs I started out with.
  9. Few recent scores. Dobyns Extreme 805 and some customs.
  10. I have drank the Dobyns cool aid and own Fury's, Champions and Extremes. All are great rods, buy with confidence and get specific rods for your fishing needs.
  11. I couldn't choose just one?
  12. On a budget get the Dobyns 734c Fury rod. Great all around rod and can be had for under $110 bucks.
  13. Congratulations!
  14. I drank the cool aid and have 13 rods and all but 2 are well over $200 ea. I have to say the more expensive rods are nicer and more sensitive in their own right for the different techniques.
  15. Forgot to take pics, but just got my stock of Zman chatter baits in. 6 1/2 oz and 6 3/4 oz in multiple colors. Have to remember to take pics next time.
  16. That is an awesome deal for a great rod. You should jump on that one.
  17. I have that same bag and bought it 7-8 years ago and still going strong. I have replaced the boxes a couple times since I got it. May just order me one at that price.
  18. I have the mag grass for frogging exclusively, the mag bass for large spinners/chatter baits and a spinning model they call shaky head for finesse presentations. I am happy with all three, but I also have Dobyns Champions for other specifics. The Custom Lites are great rods with plenty back bone and are sensitive. You can't go wrong and as someone else said, the power rating is pretty spot on. My Dobyns I had to go up in ratings as they tend to be rated on the lite side.
  19. The Dobyns I purchase come in a PVC tube and rod wrapped in bubble wrap, the Lew's Custom Lites come in a heavy cardboard tube. I haven't had any issues with ordering on line.
  20. FedEx brought my Dobyns Extreme today.
  21. The 29 series will fit in the 27 minn Kota box. That's the set up I have.
  22. I agree. The shimano use to be on top of the food chain, but imo Lew's bait casters has leaped ahead.
