  1. It baffles the mind why some pros don't have their troll motor shafts shortened. I would be breaking rods during sidearm casts with the motor as pictured
  2. This fish would agree with that assessment. Caught on a deep ledge at night in May
  3. Apparently Garmin has a troll motor coming out. Here's a video of Bill Dance "spilling the beans." It's pretty obvious that this was a staged "leak" to create more buzz, but it seems like big news regardless. I wonder what it'll be like compared to the new Lowrance and Motorguide troll motors that are also coming out?
  4. Congrats to Brandon Cobb on his second win of the season (!) and on breaking his PB, and congrats to him and Garrett Paquette on joining the Century Club! What an unbelievable achievement, as only 40ish people have ever weighed in 100+lbs in a 5 fish 4 day Bassmaster tournament.
  5. Very interesting point about requiring a short quiz when getting a license. Not a bad idea, really. Thanks for sharing your ideas, as many people complain without proposing solutions.
  6. Throw an 8" Hudd and reel it slow on offshore structure. That's how I caught both of my PBs, the 11lber was this time of year too (at night)
  7. Here's an official BASS comment on this

In honor of Dean Rojas winning, here is a cool pic I took of him on Monday during practice
  9. My G Loomis and Impulse rods are made in Washington and Texas respectively
  10. I used a regular ole 4/0 EWG for years for wacky rigs. I haven't fooled with specialized "wacky" hooks much, and I never use spinning gear for that technique. IMO that's when higher end rods shine. They're so much lighter, making it easier to hold that rod tip up all day, and more sensitive, often making that 'tick' more apparent. At least that's what I tell myself
  11. Another +1 for CXX. The stuff is stupid strong. You could easily go a size down, check out the diameter charts. It does have a decent amount of memory, though.
  12. Great advice. Sadly (for my wallet) I'm a gear head when it comes to my bass gear. Using high end stuff has ruined entry/mid-level gear for me. That being said, I don't bash people for using it
  13. I'll pass on the suggestion (i work there) A lot of people trim off the antennas when they want a smaller profile
  14. Big Bite has a package deal on their new baits (College Craw, Finesse Swimmer, Smallie Smasher, & Tour Tube), $9.99 for 4 bags of new baits.
  15. Costas! Choose whichever frame you like, but go with 580G lenses. My favorites are Silver Mirror, but also try Green Mirror etc. Preferably in a store where you can go outside with them on so you can get the full effect.
  16. Came here to post those. Unbelievable deals! Link to the spinning combo (cheaper than the reel alone btw) Link to the casting combo (I sold the heck out of these when I worked at Cabela's)
  17. I'm not able to make it, we're getting the booth to get ready for the day and it's a little too far to swing by real quick. Come see me at Big Bite, booth 307 (world's fair expo center across the street, next to AFTCO). My name's Jordan, I'm the tall young guy with a white shirt on
  18. A little birdie told me Big Bite will be giving away hats. They also have shopping bags if you forget your cinch bag.
  19. We saw everything from 54 to 60 throughout the day
  20. Caught 8 today, most on the Pro Swimmer + underspin again. Right as the action is heating up I have to head back to Georgia in the morning... It was fun while it lasted.
  21. We ended up with 2 today, both on a Big Bite Baits Pro Swimmer on an Owner flashy swimmer (what a mouthful) in around 5ft on the outside edge of the hay grass in six mile. Biggest was over 3lbs, so it could have been worse. Couldn't get the deep ones to bite, as usual.
  22. We haven't got bit in 10 hours of fishing over the last couple days. We've tried everything from 2ft to 30ft. This is the south end of the lake though, @A5BLASTER what part of the lake are you on? Not looking for secrets, just a general area. The water has been 53ish degrees here.
  23. I haven't got my itinerary nailed down quite yet, but I should be able to make it!
  24. Wondering the same thing. I'll be there
  25. I haven't tried this but I've always wanted to... Drag it on an EWG behind a Carolina rig
