  1. Good luck! Update us when you get back
  2. That oughta work! Good choice
  3. Medium or Medium Heavy?
  4. They're right, you gotta get a bill lewis first From there, I'd try both the strike king and the rapala, matter of fact I just ordered 4 rapala lipless cranks today 1 arashi, 1 rattlin rapala, 2 rippin raps
  5. Craziest thing I've ever seen. The odds of that are so stupid low! Amazing
  6. Rage Craw is definitely one of my favorites too. I think it's fun to experiment with jig trailers, because you can put just about any soft plastic on and it will probably work. I've heard arguments both for and against matching trailer color to skirt color. As some have said, just try both
  7. Surely someone has posted about this already, but I couldn't find anything in the search bar. Loomis announced the new line of GLX rods a few weeks ago, what are your thoughts? If they are more sensitive than the old GLX and 20% lighter, doesn't that put them on par with the NRX?? The NRX hasn't been updated for several years, so I wonder how these new GLX will compare... One reason why I'm asking is because I'm going to want a new medium heavy rod this year because my current one is only 6'6" and that's just not long enough for a lot of situations... I might step all the way up to a 7'5" MH, and if the GLX is about as good as the "old" NRX than I don't know why I'd spend the extra money... Your turn.
  8. First off, WOW that's a good deal for that rod, where did you find that?? Also you're going to want a 5.1 gear ratio reel for swimbaits
  9. What did you decide on?
  10. Jeez those are good looking baits... I've never seen the bait ball thing done on a paint job before, kinda neat
  11. Honestly a-rigs are just destined to get worn out and break at some point, due to the wires being bent back and forth regularly. I know the strike king ones are a whole lot more durable, but they get tangled so much it's not even worth it in my opinion. Maybe someone with more experience can correct me on this and point us towards one that's durable and functional
  12. Let me know if you ever need to thin out that collection, I'll buy some off of you who painted those / what brand?
  13. I became a big fan of the chartreuse w/ black back pattern this year
  14. Jackall stuff came in! Really excited to throw these great looking lures
  15. I use my aldebaran to throw all kinds of stuff. For something light though, you could try a weightless kut-tail worm rather than a senko.
  16. 8' Heavy Daiwa Zillion Swimbait rod Daiwa Luna 253 20lb P-Line CXX clear 8" Huddleston Deluxe Trout silver / blue back 11.12lb LMB
  17. That sounds a lot like my car during the school year! I'm equipped to fish whether it's for perch, bass, or catfish - even fly fishing. I lose passenger capacity but it's worth it
  18. My roommate has caught trout on the smaller sized ones too
  19. Dude. That is an amazing looking bait. Can't wait to see what you catch on it!
  20. isn't that a crankbait tuning tool on the side of those pliers? I guess that little feature doesn't work too well
  21. LOL poor frog, that's hilarious! Regarding the missed fish after dark, reel down and if you feel resistance set the hook because the fish probably has it in their mouth. You'll be able to tell after a crank or two if you're just moving the frog or if there's something on there
  22. Trebles or single hook? What kind? Also you should lower your rod tip pretty quickly after you set the hook if possible. Keeping it high is making it easy for the fish to jump way out of the water
  23. A Jackall Gantia is on it's way... Can't wait to try it out. A few other Jackall baits too
  24. I have learned quite a bit from youtube. Matt Allen taught me most of what I know about big baits. Besides that I prefer watching clips of pros giving tips rather than kids my age (Flair, 1rod, Jon B...). Then there's the stuff my dad and friends from the lake have taught me, you can't beat that.
