  1. http://fish.shimano.com/content/sac-fish/en/home/products/fishing-reels/spinning/spirex-front-drag.html
  2. I've never used more than 20# mono but I plan on stringing up a baitcaster with weedeater string at this rate and seeing what happens
  3. I plan on getting one when I can come across the money. I personally think line capacity is over rated in most cases. You're not going to make a 100 yard cast I don't care who you are.
  4. Looks like that deal is online with free shipping no minimum too: Link
  5. I got the 7'10" Heavy for big hard swimbaits (gantarel, etc). Decent rod, haven't caught any fish on it yet but jeez if I can't throw that gantarel halfway across the world... I'm wondering though, is it glass or graphite or a "blend?" Online it says graphite, on the rod it says "composite," and the rod is super super thick. edit: I realize after typing this, it's obviously some combination of glass & graphite. dumb question
  6. Same here. Frog rod is a 7'9" XH
  7. It's a little smaller than the tourney lite. If you liked the lite you'll like the lite G
  8. I have had success on Zoom swimmin super fluke jr's. I have had bad luck with those SK rigs tangling, though. But I was using braid when having these problems, maybe that contributed. I've caught fish on it, but every few casts it'll come back tangled up a little, which ruins the presentation.
  9. A-Jay nailed it. If it's running true then it's not the bait's fault. Are your baits not running correctly are are they just not catching fish? That's an important thing to distinguish.
  10. Interesting. Sounds like winter to me.
  11. That's really interesting... Both are the man-made version (apparently naturally occurring SiC is rare), one looks like a diamond, one is black? and goes in a rod guide... I'd like to look more into how those guides are made. Sorry that this isn't relevant to the op anymore, just too interesting to go without saying
  12. Well I got my fiancé a moissanite ring and I have a replica of my DD on the way. I'm much happier knowing nobody slaved for the rock and my fish is back in the lake. All personal preference
  13. Wait, how did they catch fish back then if their reels didn't cost over $300?? Haha, just kidding. Thanks for sharing. This was before I was born, yet 4 of the top 6 on the AOY leaderboard are still relevant today. Cool deal. It does seem like the ratio of spinning to casting gear was higher then (or at least in this clip). Nothing wrong with that, just interesting.

    Lure ID

Those are non name brand jerkbaits off ebay. Nothing wrong with them, just letting you know.
  15. I bought one today for the sake of science. Will do research asap and report my findings.
  16. Man primetime, tell us how you really feel... LOL! BD the duck's not a sham any more than any other "specialty" lure is a sham. TBH the duck is just a wider profile whopper plopper
  17. They can order anything they carry online, and they don't carry gantarels, nobody carries matt lures
  18. That and savage gear stuff isn't terribly expensive. You can get one at Cabelas for $14. I personally an gonna get the 6" duck in wood duck (looks like a baby mallard or baby goose which I see at toledo a lot) and 11.25" rat (that includes the tail, so it's more like a 5 or 6") in brown (looks like a small nutria rat or maybe even a baby beaver). I'll definitely report here when I get them
  19. No they won't. You're right, I assumed they carried gantarels because cabela's does, but turns out they sure don't!
  20. Not enough to matter. They just want to sell more by convincing you that you need another version of the same bait. Kinda like when there are a million color options. I get it, I'm just telling it like it is
  21. Excellent point. I know that's the truth because all my skips are flops no matter what tackle I use
  22. I personally can't believe that they released a silent one. It's a buzzbait, which is supposed to make as much noise as possible, why in the world would you want a "silent" one?? Just my 2 cents.
