Avid bass fishermen, not great at it but enjoy it. Fish small tournaments win some lose some. I have a problem with too much fishing gear always searching for the next best thing. Someday I will downsize, yeah right. Nice to be here, lots of interesting stuff and info.

  1. I like the caffeine shad too, but doesn’t seem very durable. So I use the d shad more often. Still miss Havoc series the Jerk I should’ve bought more when they were on clearance
  2. Thanks for the info. My grandson is looking for some stuff not sure what it is, he told me but weird names I thought.
  3. Sorry, baits reels rods. Grandson looking for some soft baits he bought at the classic and can’t find them in the states 🤷🏻‍♂️
  4. Not sure if that’s a proper question and I’m sure if I really tried I could find some answers in the forums but a lot seems like older information. So if anyone uses any of these websites which is safer to use. Geez hope that makes sense. Thanks for any info
  5. Ifn you can afford lithium and a new charger. Get a new battery tray and and group 31 Everstart batteries from Walmart 4-6 year life for all your needs including starting your big motor. However not sure what they can do for all the modern electronic marvels needed for fishing but basic electronics and and livewells they’re fantastic
  6. Great insight. I used a 7-7 feather lite and could throw the rig I used a mile but that rod now is for lighter hair jigs. I was looking for a shorter rod cuz well my front deck isn’t huge and all the longer rods take up room. Went with the Zodias 7’2” mlp love me some zodias and thanks to cast by fly it was a great suggestion hopefully it works out as great as the other zodias rods I have.
  7. Horsepower rating is there for a reason. Have a boat dealer here notorious for advertising lower prices because he has lower horsepower motors on his boats and people don’t realize how long it takes to get on plane no matter the prop and crappy resale value for anyone paying attention. A 20’ boat with a a 150 hp motor is unethical salesmanship imo
  8. Thanks for all the suggestions . I agree lighter line will help just get a little nervous around rocks and zebra mussels though. I’m not a fan of braid so there’s that. Old school line to the bait kind of guy. I do believe a little longer rod casts farther than a shorter rod will definitely downsize my line. I like the rod suggestions I’ll give them all a look. Thanks
  9. So I was just down at the Classic and visited a number of rod booths and well it seems like most guys are power fisherman and struggled to answer a simple question, which really is not in my opinion? So I’m looking for a Ned rig rod , 1/32 ounce jig head with a 3” roboworm I am throwing into the wind because that’s what works for me most of the time. My thought or what I want is a ml 7’2”-7’4” rod with a fast action around 200$ with a small fore grip so my finger is on the rod blank no threads exposed because it’s irritating. And I feel like a 7’ rod just doesn’t get it done for distance and I’m using a Shimano Vanford 3000 reel with 8# Yo-zuri hybrid line. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks for any input because it seems like a unicorn at this point 🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. So my youngest son would be out at the bars and he would talk to the service men and women, he would say thank you for your service and they’d reply that’s not gratitude but sanctimonious and you don’t understand any of it ? I’m not sure what that means because all of our service people seem so appreciative of the love they get?
  11. Years ago TW was wonderful unless they have a color you need they’re pretty much nonexistent in fishing products kind of like bass pro-shop useless but rich non the less
  12. So what I did was cut off crappy Minnkota plastic/rubber protector which it is not, every wire has a crink where the protector was. My gosh surprised it worked at all. Used electrical tape in places just to keep wires tied together. Then used ace bandage that sticks to itself as a wire wrap it’s flexible. Bought neoprene trolling motor wire covering from Amazon half the price of TH marine works great so far ?
  13. Hi all, Wondering if anyone had the pleasure of replacing the cable jacket that goes from steering module to the foot pedal? Mine has two tears in it one by the steering module and one kind of in the middle. I can order the jacket from Minkota but they have no instructions on how to replace it ??‍♂️ Thanks in advance for any advice
  14. Tom being in California doesn’t that state have a lead ban? Everything else is from what I read including fresh air ?
  15. Well wth shouldn’t have to change out the snaps zman supposed to reputable company it’s not like the mini max is the original and now I’m ticked I bought a pile of mini max and I have to worry about crappy snaps when I’m engaged with a 5-6 bass. Was excited now distraught with Wisconsin fishing finally underway. Seems like a lot of companies short changing on quality to save a few bucks or pennies. Jerks
