id start out with a liples crank bait in shad patern, i like the rapala ratletrap in shad. crankbaits and jerk baits should work good too.

i use zoom horney toads, if you hook them corect i can make them last about 3-4 fish. i use black at night/evening,and during the day either watermellon red sparkle or junbebug depending on the water color and what not

my freind has an okuma spining reel and it is by far the worse reel i have ever used, absolutely horible... im not sure what he did to the poor thing but it is realy bad

i have a diawa ss spining reel and it is a peice of crap but keep in mind its realy old, i dont realy have anything against daiwa. i realy like my penn slammer, and my bros pflueger is great. but shimanos cheep stuff realy is junk, my brothers 40$ shimano fell apart, the drag clicker broke, it sounds like shaking a spray can whene u reel it in and it clunks. my vote would go for pflueger. a shimano of the same quality as a pflueger costs way more
