  1. You got a 30 on your ACT, and you have 'nothing'?! A 30 on your act can get you into almost any school itself. Look into scholarships a little more, I know you'll find something.
  2. I really like it. It gets to the point and also shows that you ARE a person. I think a lot of people cut a lot of material out to waste time, but I know a lot of these companies like to see someone that is passionate about the sport and is a real person. The only other thing I would to say is to do an actual list of tournaments that you have took part in over the past 2 years or so.
  3. I work at the Marine counter in Bass Pro, Independence...Due to the fact that their little kiosk is about 10 foot away...I hear it all. What they do at our BP is say "Have you gotten your name in for the giveaway?...It's a new truuucck"...Then they hit em hard with the trips. I swear that truck will never be given away. But as far as the quotas go, at our store it's 10 trips per week. Which isnt too unrealistic when they're usually hittin about 9-12 per employee, so they're doing pretty good.
  4. Rebel Magnum Pop R...3" and 1/2 oz of heart-stopping, bass-thrashing action.
  5. I have recently gotten Navionics Hot Maps explorrer. I really like the program, I just want to know if anyone knows how to save way points to my SD card (in my computer), then pop that sd card into my 898 with my actual Navionics chip and actually be able to access those way points. Can anyone help?
  6. Good questions. To be quite honest with you, in the fall I primarily target the same combination of structure: A cove with a defined creek channel, right off the main river channel, and with plenty of structure. When I say structure, the more the merrier...lots of laydowns, stick ups, brush piles. This combination of structure will hold fish throughout the whole fall season, and to me, is THE best place you can fish. The cover in the cove gives the fish plenty of ambush points to catch any kind of unsuspecting prey that may wonder by. That being said, I'll flip, pitch, swim, cast, and hop the jig next to any cover, whether it be a laydown, brush pile, or a creek channel. These fish are hungry, let them tell you how they want it. No presentation is a bad presentation. Fall is a very forgiving season due to the fact that these fish are gorging. Experiment and figure out what those fish want!
  7. I fished a tournament this spring at a lake in Northern Missouri, and prior rains had made the lake dirtier than chocolate milk (not even kidding). Seeing as how muddy this water was, I went the text book route and fished black, black/blue...dark colored jigs. When weigh in time came around, there was a significant difference between the top 2 and the rest of the field...about a 10 pound difference. Bottom line, if you weren't fishing pb&j, you weren't catching fish.
  8. I work at in the Marine department at Bass Pro, and we've answered many phone calls in regards to this. Heck, our computers in the store are too old to even handle the site, so we cant even access the website either.
  9. Jigs jigs and jigs. Now don't get wrong, I love fishing jerk baits, cranks, and spinnerbaits in the fall...but my catching consistency is always higher with the jig. Although fish gorge themselves on shad this time of year, a fish won't pass up a craw fish it goes right in front of them. It could be that the lakes I fish get pretty heavy pressure, but it works, and that's the bottom line. Next time you see schooling shad, flip a jig right in there and get those bigguns hanging out underneath the pack!
  10. Seriously, any water conditions. I've honestly caught fish in the muddiest/clearest water on a pb&j jig.
  11. That's impressive!
  12. Like a few other people say, I'm always barefoot when the weather permits. Any other time, I'm rocking the good ole Nike 6.0's
  13. I agree to this as well. They should be able to tell you what is ideal for your ponds.
  14. I know John Crews uploaded a picture on facebook that made me laugh pretty hard. He took a picture of a wad of cash in his hand with the caption reading "The hottest lure in bass fishing right now".
  15. Good. You are the voice for a lot of us in that matter. The fact that Nate could possibly win the classic after qualifying through this sort of controversy gives me chills...what could this come to...
  16. Just so I follow you, you would not have said anything? I guess why a lot of people disagree with that action in this situation, is that you're letting an attempt to cheat get swept under the rug. I, for one, would NOT tolerate any kind of cheating or even attempted cheating in the sport that I love.
  17. Although I cant say it applies to all wardens, my dad and I got stopped once at the boat ramp this year. Went through the usual, asked to see our licences and checked out our live wells. At the time the lake we were fishing was close to flood stage, but I didnt know how high the actual lake level was. So I asked the gentlemen about how high it was, he proceeded (with a childish attitude)to tell me how he doesnt know, and looked at me like I was stupid for asking such a question. Just a genuine d bag.
  18. This is awesome...I love the editing.

What size is the Pop r, and what size line are you using??
  21. For deeper water (especially on dams like you have mentioned), I'll throw a DD22 or a 1/2 oz. jig. Get them active fish, and then slow down and get the more lethargic/calmer fish.
  22. A quick search on this topic will yield plenty of results. Based on your case, I would say it was either rod selection or poor hook setting.
