  1. Thanks guys!
  2. Don't know about the popper...It will just hook up all of the slop.
  3. Today I went to a pond with my buddy. I have never fished this pond, but I have seen big fish get caught out of it a few times (I work in this park). We finally got there at noon and right off the bat I tied on a frog. There is a bunch of slop in this pond and I figured this would be a good bait use. I was right. I had nine BIG fish blow up on my frog (out of the four fish I visually saw, all four were over 5 pounds). My only problem was, I couldn't hook up. I don't get to fish frogs too often because I hardly ever fish slop (scarce on the lakes I fish) so I'm not the best at hooking up (obviously). I plan on going back up there this week and trying it again, but this time I want to actually have a chance of hooking up with a fish. Can anyone think of any other lures I can use here or any other tips?
  4. I would def. suggest using a shakey head. It produces almost all the time. Let me know if you don't know what that is.
  5. X1000. Thank you Sam.

  8. Jigs: Black & Blue and any combinations of brown.
  9. Welcome! Try looking here first: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1120348381
  10. Don't give up on the drop shot. It is deadly in clear water. Also try a shakey head.
  11. That's a great deal on a great rod. For my small jigs, I exclusively use an Airrus Puls-R 6'3" M. It is an AWESOME rod for small jigs. It is a great rod with just enough tip, and a lot of backbone.
  12. Great fish!!! Is it just me or does that fish have a small mouth?
  13. Factors will change depending on where you are fishing. Generally, I throw DD22's, big texas rigged worms, and jigs in the summer.
  14. X2. 1/8 oz. or 3/32 oz.
  15. Great fish! Good job!
  16. Looking great!!!!
  17. If you are planning on fishing both sides of the lake (Arkansas and Missouri) then you will need to get a special liscence so you can fish both. I think it's called the White River liscence. I'm not sure. If I were you, I would just buy the 1 week Missouri fishing liscence and stay on the Missouri side. A 1 week liscence will set you back about 40 bucks, but if you locate the fish, it's worth every penny. I actually havent had too much luck on buzzbaits at Table Rock. If you want top water action, use a Zara Spook. That seems to be the best top water bait on The Rock.
  18. I don't know if this has been posted before, but I thought I'd share. I vote it the best on the internet.
  19. That second one is PRICELESS!!!
  20. DING DING DING!
  21. Any craw color usually produces.
  22. Here is the report with a few pic's. More pic's will be added soon. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1214791095/0
  23. Hey guys. I went to Table Rock Lake for a week and just got back a few days ago. If you don't know, Table Rock is a deep, rocky, clear lake. This time was different. Earlier in the year, the lake had risen over 20 feet. It's slowly dropping and is now at about 8 feet. The water was up in the trees and the water was stained. Fishing was better than it usually is. I caught almost all of my fish pulling a Strike King Series 5 (sexy shad) crankbait through all of the flooded trees. The first morning, my grandpa and I went out and started fishing a flooded point (I caught a 2 ½ pounder there the night before). I was throwing the crankbait and made a cast parallel to the bank. I took a couple of cranks...BAM!!! I had a good one on. I yelled to the back of the boat and told my grandpa. At this point, I thought I had an eight pounder on. After two minutes, I had the fish under the boat. I reeled down and pulled my rod up then I saw it...or shall I say them'. I had two big fish on. I lipped one and netted the other (it had it's mouth hooked' shut). I never caught a double in my life, and this was a perfect start. I snapped this quick pic, and then my phone died (perfect timing huh?). So I put them in the live well and made a quick trip back to the dock to snap a few pics with me holding them (I don't have these pic's at the moment becuase they were takin on my grandpa's camera, but they will be up soon). I let them go, and went out for a while longer. Caught a few fish on a drop-shot, but nothing of any size. Week went on, and it was pretty tough. I caught a few more on a drop-shot, but that was about it. Friday (our last morning) we went out and it was raining and very cloudy. I managed to catch a few spotted bass and a good small mouth. Here's a pic of an average Table Rock spot: And here is a good little smallmouth that I caught. When I set the hook, it felt like I hooked a rock. My grandpa caught a nice 3 pounder on a LC Pointer, but I didn't get a picture of it. Overall, this was a pretty good trip to Table Rock. If you ever get a chance to fish there, do it. I have yet to find fish that fight like Table Rock fish. Thanks, Craig Conger
