  1. I have heard nothing but bad things about this bait. I've seen the action, and it's not impressive.
  2. Most of the time I'm fishing a medium private lake (4-5 times a week). My grandparents live on one and that's where I practice, learn new techniques, and occasionally guide. All of my tournaments on the other hand are on big reservoirs like Table Rock, Truman, Lake of the Ozarks, etc.
  3. I've found that this is the best thing to do in clear water.
  4. The only braid I use is power pro...it gets the job done.
  5. Is this the one your talking about? It might not be, but it was the only one I could find.
  6. I've heard its better in off-colored water.
  7. In the middle of the day, I like doing one of two things. I will either flip/pitch the heaviest stuff I can find with jigs or soft plastics, or I go deep and fish a deep diving crankbait or a big texas rigged worm.
  8. Welcome! You might want to be more specific.
  9. What he said.
  10. I do the same thing. Sometimes you just have to take a break and think. Usually I will fish my strengths and cover as much water possible.
  11. Oh yeah. My top 5 baits for night fishing are: 1) Black/Blue spinnerbait 2) Anything Chart./Black on a shakey head 3) Black/Blue jig 4) Black Grape power worm 5)Black buzzbait You could say anything with black is good
  12. Nice fish! You might want to go to the doctor...looks like you have a bad case of pink eye
  13. Water is at 640...normal pool is 606.
  14. Thats Mike for ya, that's how he's always been. I'm glad to see that he's leading this tournament.
  15. Yeah, I hate to see lakes like this.
  16. I've read a lot of reviews that complain of the baits filling with water. Anyone seem to have that problem? I own a whole box of Series 5/6 cranks and have never had this problem with any of them. Thanks lknbassman . It was quite the surprise.
  17. Here is an e-mail I got today: Mark Twain Lake just hit it's high water mark (set in 1993) and passed it up by almost two feet so far. I just barely got my boat under the hwy J bridge Saturday night at 8 pm. This morning at 7:00 the level was 638 & 1/2 feet. Normal is 606 feet above sea level. There are NO BOATS allowed on the lake at this time because they are opening up the locks to try to get the level to keep up with the inflow. Many parts of the Salt River Valley (the river below the dam) will be flooded from the lake to Louisiana MO. We are expecting rain on and off until Thursday. For those of you more familiar with the lake I'll give you a few details. *The water is completely over the upper parking lot at Black Jack Marina. *The water is up on the silo 18 & 1/2 feet. *Just the tip of the roof is sticking out on the building at Spalding Beach. *If the lake rises on more foot, water will be touching the bridges. *You can take Lick Creek all the way to Perry and farther by boat if you could get it in the water. *A lot of the warning marker buoys are under water. *All but two of the 'ABC' location markers are under water. *The Cajun Fest will not be on the Island this year because you can't find the Island. I have seen nothing about any of this on the St. Louis news channels. Here's a few pic's too. The bathroom at the beach. Blackjack Marina The Highway J bridge.
  18. Here's a little surprise I got earlier this summer on a Series 5.
  19. Not going to go into too much detail but...I am basically given a certain amount of rods for free (enough to cover just about every technique that I use). On top of that, I get a 40% off discount on any extra rods that I may need to purchase. In return, I am expected to promote Airrus in an honest and professional manner, to wear my Airrus hat and shirt at tournaments, and of course use Airrus rods exclusively. I may also be asked to work any shows that may be done in my state. Their is a little more to both sides, but you get the gist of it.
  20. Hmmm. Their is a little more to it than a 20% off discount. In my opinion, Airrus treats their pro-staff pretty good. Or at least that's how they treat me.
  21. The Strike King Series 5 crank is one of my top producing crankbaits. It flat-out catches fish.
  22. Congrats! I hope your tournament success continues.
  23. 2.99?!?! I'm going up there today and buying their whole stock. They are great baits.
