  1. Yep. I live less than a mile away. It's nice to have somewhere close so I don't have to drive all the way to BPS.
  2. I really like all of the anglers. I really like Mike Iaconelli, because he is a great guy. Denny Brauer is also a really good guy that will teach you anything you want to learn. I also like Boyd Duckett because his attitude and willingness to teach.
  3. I've never heard of soaking it in water, but I just put it on my reels as is.
  4. I think you should be fine. I fish my shallow divers on a 6' 3" Puls-R and it works great. Sometimes I'll even throw a Wiggle Wart with it. But when it comes to throwing DD22's, my rod is 7' 6". You can cast that DD22 a mile.
  5. Yes sir. With a black and blue skirt.
  6. Was at Lake of the Ozarks this weekend for a tourney. The lake is pretty good. They lowered it a little bit, but nothing too major. The lake has a good stain to it, but the water clarity varies on where you go. If you want to catch fish, get out there early or late as the bite is at its best when the sun is just over the horizon. I placed 3rd, caught all my fish on DD22's around brush piles in 8-12 foot of water in between docks. We caught a few flipping docks, but no keepers. If you want to have some real fun, go out at about 7 pm and find a shallow cove where the shad are busting and throw a spinnerbait or buzzbait; we caught a ton of fish doing this.
  7. X2. Froggin is quickly becoming my favorite technique. I use a Revo S (cheap, but it works just fine) on an Extra Heavy Airrus Ultra XL. This rod has more than enough power to get a good hook set and to get those fish out of the slop.
  8. I'll be down there this weekend, I'll let you know how things are.
  9. I'm going down to the Niangua part of LOZ this weekend, anyone have anything they want to share?
  10. That is sick!
  11. Of course I have no idea what the Curado E is like, there for I cannot recommend it. I do have two Curado D's however, and I would recommend the STX.
  12. I get more hits on the Jr. then the normal one, but both are outstanding baits.
  13. Brand new, I'd say it is about 4 1/2 inches. The legs are made very long so you can customize them to your needs.

    best frog

I use 40-50 pound Power Pro, and it works good. I find that second statement false. Once you work the frog in, your hook-up ratio goes WAY up. * On a side note, don't be afraid to throw a frog on a lake that has no frogs at all. I found this out the hard way.
  15. You could also use the double tail as a jig trailer on a football head jig.
  16. An Angels fan in St Louis? How the heck did that happen? How does anyone even become an Angels fan? I just don't feel them I'm not sure why. You being an Angels fan you must stick out like a Zebra in a pack of quarter horses! St Louis fans are about as dedicated as Cubs, Bears & Packers fans. Can't you be expelled from the area for not rooting for the birds? lol Yeah, I stick out like a sore thumb. I get a ton of crap for being an angels fan, but then I say, "Who has the best record in baseball right now?"
  17. Like Randall said, sand the lower lip down.
  18. Yeah that was pretty funny. Altho I am from STL (and live 30 minutes away), I do not like the red birds. I'm a die-hard Angels fan.

  20. I really like fishing a shakey head. It has bailed me out more then a few times. The technique that has consistently caught me fish is pretty simple. I'll throw it out there and wait until it sinks. Once it hits bottom, I'll let it sit for a few seconds and then I'll pull it a little and then start shaking it. Then reel up the slack, pull it a little bit, and then shake it. Just repeat that until it gets to the boat. I fish it on a 6'6" Medium action Co-Matrix on 6 pound Gama.
  21. I just started being productive with frogs. I've had the best luck fishing in the middle of the day and just twitching the frog on top of the muck. I quickly found out that braid and a heavy rod are a must.
  22. I do not like the Money Minnow at all. I really like the Berkley Hollow Belly. I've caught a lot of fish on them and they have great action.
  23. How about 13 Strike King Series 5 crankbaits? All in Sexy Shad of course .
  24. Man that is too cool! What are you going to get? A bunch of baits, or a really nice reel, or a combination of both? Congrats!
