  1. all my rods are tierra rods. they are great for the price considering i am a college student. of course there is always going to be something better, but they have been good to me. Only one of them has ever broke on my but i was being stupid. Daiwa replaced it under the 5 year warranty free.
  2. anyway to use the o-ring and ewg and making it weedless at the same time? just wondering, cause like an idiot i was catching fish on a senko this past tournament i was in and forgot to try wacky rig (probably would have caught more bass). but i like the idea of ewg hooks but where i was fishing was all reeds and garbage. just wondering for future reference.
  3. thanks reel mechanic, i just never made the correlation between the lure weight and what my rods could handle. well i guess i will have to get another setup then lol. anyone have a good suggestion for a swimbait setup?
  4. lol, thanks raul, you have been on top of my posts in the last 5 min. thats pretty awesome of you.
  5. Hello all. i just got a huge wake bait but in my infinite wisdom did not mind the lure weight versus the lure weight ratings on my rods. so i have a 2 oz. wake bait but my beefiest rod (my flipping rod) reads .25 oz to 1.5 oz. so my dilemma is, should i tie on the wake bait anyway cause manufacturers under rate their rods? or dont do it at all cause i could mess up my rod and possibly lose a bait? thanks guys
  6. thank you for the correction. could you recommend some split rings for me? do the split rings that come with the lucky craft crank baits tend to be mediocre ones? thanks.
  7. Hello all. I noticed my last couple of fishing trips out that when i tie a crankbait on, my knot has a tendency to slide to the opening of the ring and on half the occasions, they start going under the openings on their way out to coming off the ring. how do you guys usually resolve this problem if there is a resolution? Ever since noticing that, i have used quick change snaps but for some reason i dont have much confidence in them. I recently purchased a huge wake bait which i think i am going to have to tie with braid (cause its that big and heavy) and am afraid especially with braid that if my tightened knots slip to the opening portion of the ring that it will untie or come off. so again i ask, what should i do about this? Thanks.
  8. thanks for your reply guys, mods, can you move this to the bass club sections? thanks
  9. there is none and i dont konw why. lol. anywho i am a graduate student trying to start a club up here in uf and was wondering if anyone else here attended this school and would be interested. The club i belong to is willing to help but i believe i also need students to become a member so this club can start to get up and running. Just shoot me a line so we can chit chat. I dont see why uf cannot become a major competitor especially since we have access to alot of great like and river systems.
  10. I won't say that yet they haven't been out all that long, and I still think they have a weak spot built in, and Daiwa knows it. Again just MY .02¢ from the bench... Tight Lines!!! what weak spot is this? not lubing there reels from the factory lol. i still need to get mine serviced befor ei use it again.
  11. is htere anyway to deter them? i mean sometimes to go to bigger bass, you go to a bigger bait (even though small bass will still try to get it). would you have to go to somethign rediculously big? i fished a tournament recently and had a bluegill take my gunfish. that just boggles my mind.
  12. i do not konw how to add oil to the reel. is it as simple as just opening it up? reel mech told me not to with my viento so i figure the megaforce is the same way. thanks man
  13. anyone here with a megaforce ever have problems with it not comming lubricated from teh factory? i was at a tournament and noticed mine started to squek and squeel and my boater told me that it was non lubricated like his was (mine is brand new and that was the first time it was fished). Just wondering.
  14. This seems kinda awesome. do you think you would be able to make your own custom designs? if so how would you go about doing it? plus what if i wanted to add a uf logo on it, is that still breaking trademark rules or anything?
  15. im sure this is not espn's fault. im sure there parent company disney told them to. so in actuality it is really mickey mouse who is hurting the coanglers. Im telling you, the next step is going to be disney and walmart merging and then taking over the world. it sucks they took the coangler out (event hoguh i dont belong to bass) but luckily there are so many other events out there that i can still participate in.
