  1. Can you send me some screenshots and more info on the Dragon Buzzbait you mentioned above? I am not having any luck finding this
  2. Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone had any of the Evolution Grass Burner BuzzBaits they would like to part ways with? Shoot me a message if so. On a side note. Anyone have any idea why these are no longer available? I assume the company went out of business.
  3. Thought I would share. I always hated leaving a giant net on the deck that is constantly in the way, especially if you fish more than one person out of a boat. Came up with this idea and I am pretty excited to try it out this year. Pretty sure I found a post somewhere on-line this offseason of someone who had a similar setup. I used the channel on one side of the Talon to install a couple of mini "RAM" style mounts I got from a buddy at work. If anyone is interested, I can see if I can get the model number off of them. I ordered a Kayak style rod holder off of Amazon. Net is an Ego S2 Slider with the 18" handle.
  4. I owned a 2013 Z7 for 6 years. Biggest issue I had was loss of speed over the years. Ended up being a hooked hull so I traded it off for a Triton. Leaps and bounds ahead of the Nitro quality wise. I also had several issues with my trailer. The fenders were only tack welded and eventually ended up cracking all over and were extremely loose and noisy. Ended up having a new set fabbed up because I got sick of constantly reinforcing with angle under the fenders. Check out the Nitro FB groups. I know a ton of new Nitro owners are constantly posting how bad their trailers are and how the keep failing. Seen a lot of complaints with the touch switch panels also. I owned a 2013 Z7 for 6 years. 5. Daily Driver - 2007 Camry with 92K. I bought it May of 2021 with 74K miles for $4,000. Its ugly but I sure like filling up once a month.
  6. This is what I have been using
  7. I have a Guest on-board charger I am selling if you are interested. 3 bank (10A each) with no issues. Works just fine. I will sell for $100 shipped.
  8. Try Boat Bling Hot Sauce to remove the water deposits.
  9. Me and a good friend of mine were there this weekend. Our big one of the weekend came Sunday afternoon. 2.88. That tournament is a blast to fish and I think this is now our 6th one we have fished together. We also have had a few heartbreaks during that tournament. 1. This weekend my buddy caught something big off the main channel that broke his crankbait off. We never got to see it but when he reeled his line in he noticed a bunch of slime at the bottom. Made us think a catfish broke him off. 2. 2 tournaments ago I caught a really nice fish that took a few minutes to get in only to find out that it was a 12lb drum. Half hour later I caught a 4.69 that paid a couple hundred bucks.
  10. A week ago Sunday we fished our first tournament and I had a small and short lived issue with my Ultrex trolling motor. When we started early in the morning at our first spot I put the trolling motor down and noticed the steering was extremely slow and no matter how hard I pushed in either direction on the pedal the speed was not right. The trolling motor sounded a little different when trying to turn and was not as responsive. After about 20 minutes of this it finally snapped out of it and started working normal again. A couple hours later we pulled into a different spot and it did the same thing again but only for a minute or so. Other than those two instances the motor worked fine all day. Not sure if the weather might have effected it but it was very cold early on (33 degrees at takeoff). The trolling motor is about a year old and I have never had any issues with it. We are heading down to the Ozarks this weekend and hopefully we have no problems with it. I have be going out every night and testing it out in the garage and it seems to be working fine. We are taking a spare trolling motor down with us in case we have problems. Any thoughts on what this could have been?
  11. During the Big Bass Bash in the Ozarks last spring I caught a nice one in a straight up down pour. We had to make about a 30min run to weigh the fish. We take off and about 5 to 10 min in I start to wonder why won't my boat go any faster than 35mph. Keep in mind the pouring rain and it was about 50 degrees so I was all bundled up trying to stay warm. Finally I look back and realize the Talon was still fully deployed (12'). Water was spraying out every orifice of the Talon. Had to take the Talon in for repairs when I got back to town. Dumb dumb dumb. Fingers crossed that never happens again.
  12. One major complaint I have with the Nitro brand is the quality of wiring they do on their boats. I currently have a 2012 Nitro Z7 with the 150HP 4 stroke. Over the last several months I have been going through the wiring on the boat and cleaning up or replacing in my opinion sub par electrical wiring and connectors. All of the connectors have now been replaced with either molex heat shrink style connectors or have had some style of DT series deutsch plug installed. The biggest concern that I have is none of the wiring coming off of the batteries had any sort of fused protection on them. I went ahead and added a 60A fuse to the 24V trolling motor system and ran high quality 6ga wiring to the new Ultrex trolling motor I installed late last year. The TM is hardwired with no plug at the bow so I installed a blue sea battery cutoff switch to kill power to the TM while I was using the onboard charger . I decided to upgrade the wiring coming off of the cranking battery and add another master disconnect switch. The main fuse I am running is a 50A with the same high quality 6ga running from the battery to the fuse, fuse to the disconnect switch, disconnect switch to the main bussbar. The main question and concern I have is that when I was connecting the main engine cables to the bussbar, I noticed that this wiring was 4ga. Curious if anyone thinks I will have a problem with the 6ga wiring that is feeding the fuse, switch, and bussbar?
