  1. I have 40lb or 50lb braid on all my baitcasting setups, I rarely go straight braid and then tie on fluoro leaders. I love braided line but 30lb and below is just too small a diameter for my liking. The line I use is basically the same diameter as 10 or 12lb which are my favorite diameters to work with but with all the awesome properties of braided line.
  2. Digital media is much a real and large player. Owning/running the largest largemouth bass focused website would garner some interest. What really would get their interest though whether it's Glenn or someone else is the impact that their site has. It's business, numbers rule, clicks and views baby. I have no doubt this website does a lot better than other digital, print or other sources.
  3. DO: work for a retailer, manufacturer, distributor, or publication in their media/marketing dept. DON'T: Decide Icast is a good time to decide start a freelance career
  4. It made the difference for me today. Only think they wanted for my buddy and I was this 12" power worm on a swing head. I think they're very much worth a shot and I'd fish it anywhere you think there's bass! Not just a deep water bait.
  5. It's worth a shot. I really only get into them good on the lipless here at laguna niguel regional park, although I see on instagram that people get em at canyon lake with it. Looks like the temps aren't going anywhere, guess it's summer for real now.
  6. The weather has been hot here the past 2 days into the mid 90s with clear blue skies. Not sure why but that means the lipless catches fire and the bass here love it. I've gotten 19 the past 2 days almost all 2-4lbs and lost about 9 more all on the lipless.
  7. First Initial and the first 3 letters of my last name, it's usually available and sounds alright.
  8. I don't really consider it one dimensional if you're roping em like you are. You gotta fish what the fish want to eat. For me each season there's usually a dominate lure/pattern. Right now it's all about the lipless, in the spring the jerkbait was the go-to and before that in winter a jig was the ticket. If you only ever throw the jerkbait whether you get em or don't year round then that's one dimensional to me.
  9. Switch as often as you feel necessary. Some guys don't mind that their line has so much memory it's like a corkscrew. I'm pretty picky and hate that. I used to respool every month or 2. I've since switched to braid with fluoro leaders, been doing it for 4 years now it's the way to go for me.
  10. Got a chance to get out on the water on my day off, it was tough but managed one small fatty pitching a brush hog. The after work fishing at the local park has been hot fishing the rc stx.
  11. The Rick Clunn STX is my favorite value jerkbait, work's really well and doesn't cost a ton. The Megabass Visions are my favorite overall, just can't afford many of them like I want to.
  12. At my local pond they've been down to hit it with very short pauses between actions but sometimes it takes 5+ seconds between actions to get bit. A jerk jerk pause type retrieve is the right way most of the time the only variable is the length of pause.
  13. Been fishing from shore after work most nights, it's been a lot of fun:

    1/4 oz RES

Don't know about the silent but the 1/4 and 1/2 and 3/4 all sound the same to me and all have a noticeable size difference.
  16. I've been doing really well with a 5/16 Jewel jig, it's got the thinned downed skirt and "finesse jig" look to it. I like the Keitech Casting jig in 1/4 and 3/8 as well when I want a fuller skirt.
  17. Lipless is definitely my #1 from shore, the variable depth part is pretty important for me
  18. Got a couple today fishing a finesse jig
  19. For California I'd say Clear Lake and the Delta are the most legendary for regular largemouth fishing. Pretty much any San Diego lake is legendary for the giants along with castaic and casitas. Bullards Bar for spotted bass. Mohave and Havasu for smallies.
  20. If the otter is eating the bass it might turn them off, but at least you know where some bass are. If it's eating bait I doubt it'd effect the bass at all. If it's just playing around I don't think the bass would mind either.
  21. I like 3/0 EWG for standard senkos and the 3/0 straight shank roboworm hook for thin senkos
  22. I'm with ya on spinnerbait and jig. I'd also give drop shot a shake.
  23. I haven't, been meaning to hit DVL or Skinner just hasn't happened yet. They should be up shallow if not this week then next week for sure.
  24. Spring is in full effect in my area, hit the local pond to flip the creek and got a nicer one.
