  1. I fish it shallow, deep, from shore and on a boat. I prefer to be stationary when fishing the drop shot but when on a boat a slow drift can be a killer way to fish it. I keep it simple. I cast it out and let it hit bottom on a slack line. I then take up line until im still slack but one more turn would start moving the bait. I then shake the rod tip real good for a tiny bit, let it stop for a second or 2 or 10 and then slowly drag it and repeat. A lot of fish hit it right after you stop shaking and pause or you feel them on when you go to drag it. Shake the slack, if you feel weight that means you're moving the sinker, sometimes they'll go for it being moved real aggressively(like bed fish) but usually it's a real subtle presentation that gets bit the best for me.
  2. Underspin and expand on the Ned rig. Ned rig is only one of many soft plastic/jig head setups. Worms, grubs, swimbaits, creatures, flukes etc. almost any plastic can be fished really well on a jig head. Imo finesse is more of a mindset and style than simply a lure choice. Finesse as opposed to power like ying and yang. Stitching an 18" worm is every bit as finesse as a Ned rig or micro tube jig. Think about it.
  3. When I get them on the Senko the bites come a couple different ways. Sometimes I don't feel a bite at all I just see the line moving and a fish is there. Sometimes I get a tap or tap tap which can happen on the fall or during the retrieve on bottom. I also get a pressure bite sometimes, you don't feel a "bite" but when you go to move the bait there is some resitence there almost like you've snagged weeds or something but it's a fish!
  4. 3/4oz Strike King Redeye Shad in Chartreuse Baitfish
  5. Excellent write up. Burning lipless cranks on a 7.5:1 reel has been great to me lately. Sometimes speed is the ticket!
  6. Are you breaking off on the hook-set? Do you feel a pop or resistance or does your line just go limp? I'd also check and see where on the line you're breaking off.
  7. Which hooks did you go with? I'm trying to find a good single hook for my lipless arsenal
  8. I was figuring more like 2-5lbers. Dixon and Wohlford are my favorite big bass lakes. Pretty excited to hear how they do opening week.
  9. I'm gonna try this Thursday to get some. I don't know if it'll be worth the craziness of San V or if it's just better to hit DVL or El Cap and be alone.
  10. The LC 65SP was one my top lures for fry guarders and post spawn
  11. I use a manual dolly to put my bay boat away. I have a really tight fit on the side of house and an awkward sloping driveway, i've only been able to back the boat in without the dolly one time out of 50+ times. I get the back end lined up, unhitch and then use the dolly to make some minor corrections and push it in. If you're by yourself on the grass I'd 100% get a mechanical dolly, it makes pushing it a lot easier. If you can't move the boat at all just pushing it without a dolly, you definitely need a mechanical one but even that might not be sufficient. My boat weighs ~1800lbs on the trailer depending on how much gas is in it.
  12. I've been doing really well with the Redeye shad lately so I'd definitely recommend it!
  13. When I'm fishing I'm typically pretty focused and don't like people talking to me. I see it like I'm on the basketball court or football field, if you wouldn't walk out and talk to people while they're playing a game then don't do to it me when I'm fishing. If I'm at the ramp or eating lunch I don't mind talking to be people but it's annoying when I'm focused on fishing. If i already know someone it's different but I definitely don't like meeting people for the first time on the water while I'm casting.
  14. Blade Runner Tackle makes some bomb proof rigs. You'd have to contact him on Facebook or convince a shop to stock em, there isn't much online about it.
  15. At the lake I fish the most the bass prefer red for some reason whether a lipless, squarebill or deep diver
  16. Reins 4" Bubbling Shaker in Green Pumpkin, the best drop shot bait i've fished
  17. I love tungsten, I was hesitant at first but there's no going back now
  18. I'd use a size 10 light wire mosquito hook if you wana do a split shot rig with it
  19. Megabass makes a 1/8th head that fits it really well
  20. For bullet weights all ive ever tried is Vike and they work well enough not to try anything else. I'd imagine it doesnt matter much.
  21. The stiffer plastics are great in the heat because they soften up. I can't think of any brands off the top of my head thats known to be stiffer. Roboworms aren't too soft, Zoom magnum trick worms aren't super soft either.
  22. Drop shot is king in a lot of lakes I fish around me. 6lb fluoro and a 4" reins shaker or a straight tail worm like a robo is deadly. Works exceedingly well in clear water, especially when it's warmer.
  23. It works exactly like other plastic solvent glue/mend/weld. Mend-it just markets it towards fisherman and charges more money.
  24. Maybe I'm using a different product then? The one I've used is called Mend-it GLUE. I could be totally wrong in calling it glue but I didn't name it, Mend-it Glue named it glue. The chemical action you're talking about is how plastic glue works...
