  1. I bought a bunch of 1" bobbers on Ebay for next to nothing. I wrap the line around and reel up to the eye. Just works.
  2. Nope, I release them all.......hopefully to be caught again. It's much like not eating the ball after a tennis match.
  3. The real inconvenience is constantly having to remove fish from your hook.
  4. In my part of the world, our SE winds are usually the warmest so I usually look to northern bays and shorelines in early spring.
  5. Black 6" Power Lizard , Mister Twister 4/0 Keeper Hook, 1/8 oz pegged bullet weight.
  6. I still have a healthy supply of the little known Mister Twister Slither Worms I throw every day I'm on the water.
  7. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you. (Mods...don't know where this belongs but IMO it needs to be seen by everybody) https:spark.adobe.com/page/dYPx7SjouAr2k/
  8. Anything less than say 10 FOW it's weightless. Over 10' I'll use a texas rig with the lightest weight I can get away with.
  9. Yup, wacky rigged 5" Senko.
  10. I just got done re-bluing a 40s era shotgun and a 50s era .22. I used a product called Oxpho-Blue Professional Grade Cold Blue and was very impressed with the ease of application and the results. Google the name and a few really good videos will come up. Good luck
  11. You mean I can download a map of a lake that's not on their list of lakes? How?
  12. Their water level offset feature makes them worth the price....IMHO.
  13. PM'd you.
  14. Unforgiven.....alt...The Enemy Below
  15. New Cabelas Xmas catalog says " We are proud to announce Fast, Free 2 day Shipping with Fed-Ex"...no mention of minimums... but when you try to order anything they tell you $50 minimum. Just another in a series
  16. I am pleased to report that I was contacted by a gentleman from Johnson Outdoors who monitors this forum (among others) and saw my post suggesting a lake in Washington be added to the Lakemaster Western Region Card. He seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say and asked all the right questions. He also said they are working to re-instate the "Suggest a Lake" links that went dead with the changing of the guard. I'm very pleased with the response and service shown by HB/JohnsonOutdoors and have renewed hope that there will be new lakes added from Washington in the near future.
  17. I make my own bladed jigs and on roughly 1/3 of them I'll use a jig with a fiber weed guard. I can't say I have ever missed a fish due to the weed guard.
  18. I was thinking about getting a Lakemaster card for my Helix 7 but as I was looking at the lake list, I didn't see Potholes Reservoir. Could this be? How can they not include what is arguably the most popular lake in Washington? Am I missing something here? I really was looking forward to the water level offset feature that is not found in the Navionics cards.
  19. Only if they got an airbag.
  20. I found these on Amazon and thought I'd play around with them a little. They obviously will provide an interesting challenge. Does anyone have any experience with "multi-eyed" baits? Tips and ideas would be welcome. Thank You. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N808QVN/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  21. Hey all, when you airbrush a crankbait and you are unhappy with how it looks, how do you start over? Assuming it is before clear coating, do you need to remove all the previous paint or can you just shoot another coat of primer and start anew? I use all Createx and Wicked acrylics. Thanks in advance.
  22. For those of you who paint your own lures, how do you handle the soft plastic tails and fins that sometime come with the bait? Soft plastic dye colors are so limited. Will a acrylic such as Createx adhere to them? Thanks for any suggestions here.

    Midway

Just read that they are going to begin filming a $100M remake of "Midway" at Oahu/Pearl Harbor next month. I love the original and watch it every time it comes on (even though I own the DVD.) I hope they make a production befitting this incredible event and leave out the extraneous love stories this time around.
  24. I use to work for a guy who threw a full can of that stuff in the tool box in the back of his rig. The can punctured, he slammed the lid and the next day started cutting his tools out of the block of foam. ?
