  1. Seems like there's one day every year when it's like somebody flipped a switch and all the frogs start croaking all at once. It's usually early to mid March. That is my signal to start sharpening my hooks. Concentrate on the shallower lakes....they'll warm up (and cool down) first. Good Luck

OK, here ya go. Ain't she a beaut?

Surprise, surprise, surprise! (Jim Nabors reference here). I got the call yesterday that they released my gun and I just made it to the LGS before they closed. What a beautiful piece. Mfg in 2015 and literally has had 40 rds through it and it shows. I'll get a pic up today if I can figure out how. BTW, Clayton, unless you handload, you might reconsider jumping on the 10mm bandwagon for a while. IF you can find them, factory ammo is insanely priced. Even reloading components are hard to come by and quite pricey. I never thought I would see the day where primers are used as currency, but that's where we're at.......around here anyway.

With a CPL we use to be able to that too. However, they changed the laws "for our safety" a couple of years ago so now we have to fill out paperwork, pay an FFl $20 to $40, and wait for background check from our city or county of residence.

I've got mucho powder and primers. Xtreme has .40 180 gr RNFP in stock and I ordered 1K of them. I scored 500 cases 1x Winchester brass so I should be good. I bought the Sig yesterday. Just have to wait for background check to clear.
  6. Most of the lakes I fish are cereal bowls. I've been known to collect a few of my neighbors Xmas trees and make my own structure. Just make sure you remember where you put them.... And that it's legal of course. ?

Well I found a die set on Ebay that I spent an obscene amount of money for. And I made a trade with a guy and picked up 300 1x cases and 100 XTPs. I've got plenty of powder and primers so if that Sig is still available I'm good to go. For a while anyway.

I stocked up on everything I shoot after the last shortage. I guess buying into a new caliber is a bad idea right now.

Yeah, I know all that. But there is a shortage on and just try to find any of that. Hence my query. Thanks

Anybody have a source for ammo, brass, projectiles, and dies? Looking to buy a Sig here locally, but I need to know I'll be able to shoot it first. Thanks
  11. The best two hours of bass fishing I ever had was in the middle of a thunderstorm with lightning strikes all around me. Stupid? You bet, but I felt like that priest in Caddyshack having the game of his life in a lightning storm......no way I was going in.
  12. Highly recommend this Netflix movie. Based on true story of incredible WWII individual survival.
  13. My 72 year old eyes are likin' it alot! ?
  14. Will save me much anxiety. Thanks

  18. Bear in mind....Homer's rods were likely all pistol grip models.
  19. I can't touch a crankbait to the deck of my '08 Ranger TR177 without snagging the carpet. Do the newer boats still have this problem? Thanks
  20. This is like going golfing with one club. At least for me, they all have a different purpose. IMHO
  21. Back in the old days, almost every major crankbait maker had a version of a "Coachdog" and a "Red Head". You just don't see them being offered anymore. I don't know why they shouldn't still be effective. Maybe if a guy was to paint up his own and "show 'em something different", he may get some surprising results.
  22. Yup, most of my rods are under 6' and most of my reels are 5.+/-:1.
  23. I want to go fishing as bad as the next guy but thumbing your nose at the need for social distancing by participating in a mass demonstration is not helping the cause. The videos I've seen of the ramp was certainly not SD.
  24. No, these were ringed, 6" , came in 5 or 6 colors.
  25. I throw them all the time, t-rigged....year 'round. Favorites are 6" Power lizards in black, Twister lizards, both 4" and 6" in grape w/red flake, black w/ yellow dots. I also have a treasured supply of BPS spring lizards from long ago. My favorite is mean green.
