  1. Going with the 7'6" and I didn't mean the giant swimbaits rather say S waver 168 or a 6.8 ketiech with a beast hook. Those giant baits are easily over 2oz most of the time so that would be it's own animal. Hopefully it's comfortable and light enough to walk a frog and toss a small to medium Arig! We fish primarily michigan so the slop doesn't get overly nasty but can be thick if you know where to look. Id say we fish some slop but not the nasty nasty and open water frog fish over top of grass.
  2. Looking at a custom frog rod that can either be 7' or 7'6" for a great price and opportunity. What would you guys lean towards? Really hoping to also throw some A rigs and larger swimbaits so the 7'6 looks good but it's rated for 1/2- 1 1/2 so might not toss a frog well and the extra length might make walking frogs uncomfortable. What rod would be more suited to the frog and what would be most versatile? Thanks!
  3. I have a few of those on back order! Can't wait to get them in. Hopefully this 7'8 doesn't disappoint ? More info appreciated by any other anglers!
  4. Hey guys, Looking for opinions on the Curado Cranking casting rods. Just picked up a 7'8 MH. Anyone with experience with that model or the line? Is the handle overly beefy and what are you guys typically throwing? Thinking large top water and big cranks. It says it can take as low as 1/2oz but rod specs don't always match what I experience. Couldn't beat the TW sale! Thanks!
  5. It seems like a no brainer. Idk why I'm struggling to pull the trigger. Do i stick to the Jerkbait special or opt for a flat side special instead? Hmm..how regular of an action are we talking here?
  6. As long has the handle doesn't get in the way I'm fine. I enjoy split and full grips but if it adds too much extra weight I'll be bummed. I just got an orochi xx shakey head and love it but the quality of how they fit the cork to the rod is a little subpar imo compared to say a Dobyns. Leaning more towards stepping up. Have you used both casting rods? I've only felt an orochi spinning rod.
  7. Hey guys, I have a 2019 Levante Jerkbait Special on warranty repair. Looks like i won't see it until January MAYBE. Megabass is offering me to jump up to the Orochi XX Jerkbait Speical for $50. Should i do it?? I have used this rod for more topwater than jerkbaits but extra sensitivity and better guides is intriguing. I do love that new Levante though... Paired it with a JDM Scorpion MGL so the Levante looks amazing with it. The orochi won't match as well, but I should get over that.... Should i do it or wait? The full grip adds some weight I'd assume but looking for recommendations. Thanks!!
  8. So, the Jerkbait Special is officially on the way. Plan to pair it with my new Scorpion MGL that just came in....such a delicious looking reel. A tad heavier than id like though.
  9. Was looking to throw topwater too, so glad to hear that. Would you throw a squarebill on it? Seems to be sold out everywhere i look but i think i'm going to have to pick it up.
  10. Has anyone picked up the new levante 2019s? Thoughts on its weight, load quality, and handle/grip? I'm thinking about that Jerkbait Special. Maybe with a Curado 70 or chronarch mgl..recommendations? For those fortunate enough to have both, how would you compare it to a Zodias? Thanks, guys!
  11. Thanks! I've recently jumped into the higher end reel game with a chronarch mgl, curado DC, and now a bantam mgl that's on the way...i feel i am becoming too critical now that i have had a taste of the higher tier reels.
  12. Thinking about jumping into a Croix Avid X 7'1" MH XF casting rod for weightless senkos and other plastics (anything else i could throw?) but having trouble pulling the trigger.. should i opt for a medium or a different length? Hoping to be convinced into this MH. I fish riverside quite often and jump in and put of the slop but already have a few MH already just nothing XF. Would probably pair it up with a Chronarch MGL but might be toi light of a reel. Also wondering if the micro guides would be a problem for an alberto knot for my a leader setup. Im hearing mixed reviews on having knots get caught in the guides and the heavy tip i hear it has. Convince me into this rod guys! ?
  13. Hey guys, i got the lews tournament pro g on a great sale and it states it has the zero anti reverse but i definately feel back play in the handle...which is a bummer for me. Has anyone else noticed this on theirs or have any info to share? Thanks!
  14. Hey guys, Has anyone had any experience with these reels? I really like the look and features at this price point but have heard some bad things. Are these a good buy? I'm looking at the 30
  15. Thanks for the info.
  16. Recently, I bought a Cabela's jerbait/topwater rod and paired it with the pt Accurist baitcast reel, and was wondering if I would have problems throwing spinnerbaits, jigs, and soft plastics on it? Overall, I have other rods I can use if need be, but I would like to be able to keep on the move, while changing lures often if i am bank fishing. Will this rod give me problems if I use other lures besides jerbaits and topwaters? Or could I use this rod for a more universal setup. If there would be problems, what would they be and could I overcome them? So far, it doesn't seem to pose any problems as of yet, but I have been tuning in my reel, rather fishing it. Other than one buzz bait running on its side, I haven't had much issue but what do you guys think?
