  1. From Justice Robert Jackson (Chief of Counsel for the U.S. at the Nuremburg Trials) in his opening statement to the court. November 21, 1945 "May it please your honors, The privilege of opening the first trial in history for the crimes against the peace of the world imposes a grave responsibility. The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant, and so devastating that civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored because it cannot survive their being repeated. That four great nations, flushed with victory and stung with injury stay the hand of vengeance and voluntarily submit their captive enemies to the judgement of the law is one of the most significant tributes that Power has ever paid to Reason." these are some of the most powerful and eloquent words i have ever heard. thought i might share them.

She gives the test first and the lesson after. - anonymous I never learned from a man who agreed with me. - Robert Heinlein It is easy to be brave from a distance. - Lakota proverb Anyone can make a mistake, but a fool insists on repeating it. -anonymous No one can be caught in places he does not visit. - Dutch proverb It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness. - Chinese Proverb In matters of style, swim with the current. In matters of principle, stand like a rock. - Thomas Jefferson
  3. yes, this is a pleasure to read about. the card looks good, and free MMA is always nice to see. War Hendo.
  4. just saw this. no motive given, but arrests made. http://www.wltx.com/sports/story.aspx?storyid=51571
  5. can be any or all of the above. i generally focus on the line between the water and my rod tip. i feel the tap, then i look for the line to "change direction". if it begins to move in a manner that suggests free will, set the hook!
  6. Jeff Gordon. the little sucker can drive!
  7. we love this site so much that we are willing to put up with almost anything! don't sweat the small stuff.
  8. LBH, i love the idea of rubber mats. they sell them like puzzle pieces. that is a great idea.
  9. i have one that is a similar body style that i am trying to restore. but my lack of knowledge is making me him-and-haw (procrastinate for you that don't speak redneck) about getting it done. can be an intimidating task for those with little know how. good luck with yours and i hope you will keep us posted on your results.
  10. recently have had some success with large ribbon tails. i am looking for watermelon seed and black w/blue tail. does anyone make them? if so, would you be willing to fill an order, say 25 pieces of each? what would you charge? look forward to hearing from you.
  11. yes, hughes beat carlos newton for the welterweight title in that fight. to hughes' credit, he did not "act" out of it as blatantly as maynard did in the previous posted fight clip.
  12. Can't agree with you on that one. If your unconscious how can you "tap out"? Also if your so dumb as to knock yourself out the only thing you should win is the gold medal for dummy you misunderstand...the guy who was the victim of the slam (slammee) remained conscious and tapped out after hitting the ground due to a rib injury. the guy who picked him up and slammed him (slammer) was the one who was technically KO'd. the reason i think the tap should take precedence in this case is that it was a conscious decision on the slammee's part to quit fighting. the ref did not know the other guy was out until a minute or so afterwards.
  13. They actually declared this a "no-contest". the guy who got slammed clearly tapped, but because the other guy was virtually unconcious, they did not give him the win. i think if you tap/submit, you lose and the other guy wins, regardless of his condition, but that's just me.
  14. Matt, the blood is real. they cut themselves...and you are right about not all the cuts being in the hairline...it is just the target they shoot for. many times, in the heat of the moment, they miss and hit the forehead. i had a friend of mine who got excited and sliced his forehead almost temple to temple.
