  1. Camera coverage is terrible so far. Only a very SMALL percentage of even the top 10 are getting any coverage. Boyd only afford to pay like 5 camera guys today? 😄 Guys like Marty Robinson, Bryan Thrift and many others. Barely even getting a mention at all. Andy Morgan and Michael Neal barely catching anything at all today. The are in like 52-53 position and will be eliminated. Michael finished 3rd here last time and Andy typically does well. Not sure what happened to them.
  2. Sprague is fishing a creek that is ALWAYS my first stop this time of year. It can get crowded during the spawn though. Interesting thing is , he is running the red CB thru grass between the docks. Not targeting rocks or wood, just the grass. He is doing great! Very cool to see him fishing spots that I know well. As big as Murray is, and as long as I have fished it, it is still hard to recognize a lot of areas they are fishing. Anyone know why there is only 66 competitors? Did Boyd run them all off?
  3. 20-25 mph gale winds today. Makes Murray a rough bish!! However, most of the upper leaders are fishing right out in the worst of it. Crankbaits and chatterbaits seem to be doing good. Most of the field used their FFS in period one. Edwin Evers scoped a 7-2!! The guys staying at my place are pretty far down in the standings as of 3rd period.
  4. Dang, these guys practice daylight to dark!! Impressive for sure. Guess when you do it for a living you take advantage of everything you can.
  5. Starts this week. Couple of the guys staying at our house at the lake all week. Just wanted to start a thread if anyone wants to keep it update or has thoughts to share. I fished saturday, but didnt do to well. Did some cranking but it was pretty slow day with only a couple keepers. Water is 55 as of yesterday morning.
  6. How is St Clair in mid to late July? Always wanted to go, just havent made it over there yet. Erie is a total mad house from mid may to mid june. Sounds like SC is the same. Im hoping that once spawning is over , the crowds arent as bad. July is when i would have the best chance to get away and head up there.
  7. Got to bring back the Alabama rig to the Elite Series! I was ready to quit my job and fish full time to win the Classic! Then they banned the A-rig and ruined it for me!!
  8. The one time i went in June , I rented a house on the south end of Lake George. I bass fished by butt off for 7 days and caught one bass in the lake and the canals. Ended up spending every afternoon bowfishing the springs for Talapia. Shot quite a few 4-5lbers! Amazing how big they get down there. All the good bass fishing ive done on the st johns was in Feb/March.
  9. what kind of numbers of bass are you catching this time of year? I always heard its better in early spring and tough in summer due to water getting really high.
  10. Lake Murray has everything you are looking for! Especially great fishing! Our home in Prosperity is actually for sale. Just remodeled the master bath and had a new roof installed last week. Pictures in listing were prior to both. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/269-Forest-Shores-Rd_Prosperity_SC_29127_M54935-31591
  11. Hire a guide during your toughest time of the year. Thats the best option. Buy once, cry once.
  12. Keowee is way too crowded and over priced. Chatuge is the best d**n lake around period!! In this area i mean. It has monster spots, big LM and a ton of hybrids. Lots of topwater action 6-7 months of the year, and the most consistent fishing there is as well for bass. Hayesville is a nice area. Long as you dont try to by a place on the lake, you will be fine on prices. Lake prices are just stupid on Chatuge. This will also put you within 30-40 mins of lake Burton too. That lake is LOADED with giant spots and largemouth, and is stocked heavy with trout. Cant go wrong. I bought a house at Murray, due to prices being to outrageous on Chatuge. I have fished all the lakes around here many times. Keowee is the most overfished, with Hartwell coming in a close 2nd. Guess i should have read all your replies first. Good luck with your new place.
  13. Do yall ever spit on a lizard before using it, for luck?
  14. Geezz! I fast forward as quick as i can ANYTIME i see Martys hands about to start talking.
  15. Randleman is better than all the above lakes mentioned. Only allows 100 boats per day on the water and is 25.00 fee per boat. Provided the fees have not gone up. Get there early in the spring
