  1. i wear a amber lense wih a greenmirror lense but as for lowlight conditionsandovercast i dont wear shades then. I wear costa del mars there the best sunglass out there and have a lifetime warranty they repair any problem u have. but thats just me
  2. I have 1 problem with that idea, Lead isnt good for humans, fish, anything. Think about how many lead sinkers have already infested tthe lakes we fish, its the reason tungston is #1 right now. My solution to your problem is what i do try a light braid, you will either move that rock fray your line, i have snapped braid on rocks but only from bounceign a jig in between some rocks with otu checkign my line for a hour. see if my idea works before u use lead man!
  3. i would go with the rapala dt series for each of these depths but as for deflecting off objects change the sure set hooks to gammys and u shouldnt get hung as much for those reaction strikes.
  4. most of the time it depends on the water color for the color of bait your useing such as dark colors in muddy water and more natural colors in clearer water. What rig are u useign texas or c rig, also most of the time a bass will hit the lizard not becase the legs are or arent swiming but becuase it looks like a food source its shaped liek a lizzard and it being draged and hoped on bottom looks liek food to them. you mite need to just adjust your color settigns and pick a rig that will work with that type of cover your fishing look around this forum to get a good idea of what rig will best suit your fishign conditions.
  5. BassSnatcher said if first except my berkly frenzy is the bass paint scheme.
  6. so im guessin usein my 5/0 hooks is a nono!
  7. Whats your best carolina rig soft plastic bait? just started useign this agian and the black zoom trick worm is a killer, Anythign else work really well? Also i been useign htose discontinued flapin hogs from GYCB and i really need a cheaper ig trailer i dotn use pork i want a great soft plastic for this, im lookignin the 2-3 dollar per packs of trailers, i dont use chunks either, i do use brush hogs, and creatures, yum crasw etc... any ideas on cheap lure manufatures just for makeign there baits into trialers??? please post me soem links.
  8. well ill just fish it if it produces liek it did today i mite buy a couple more before the next spawn lol. There a great bait i just think i cuaght the one where there disgruntle employee must have had a bad day and painted mine hahaha
  9. anyone got the link im to sleepy to search!
  10. a crappy paint job, they come off pretty fast in like 2 bass, 12 casts. anyone else have this problem, im useing the bone color. its already chipping like it were 4 years old...... :-/
  11. If you can get a finesse jig you can make thAT LIZARD SOMETHING AWFULLY DEADLY. I personally prefer brush hawgs, yum craws, zoom chunks, culprit water beettles, and all time best loooking trailer to me is the yamamoto flapin hogs( discontinued).
  12. i think the eyes are dumb on jigs, i love takeign them off and why use those when you could buy the stone jig from mans there the only jig i know of that you can skip 50 ft across the water under docks with a baitcaster. Not to mention they just have a better fill to them then the strike kings i fish strike king pro models also but i think they would have been alot better wiht a pointy jig head, and if they put smaller metal bearings in the rattles that makes a higher pitch and can be heard alot better to me then the low pitch clicks from the original rattles. you can always bust open some glass ratles and put them inside the jigs!
  13. My tora tubes should arrive tommarow and im wandering if a 4/0-5/0 ewg gammy will be to small for them they are the 7 inch model. Im hopeing to use 1 pack for this next spawn and the other pack for this fall- prespawn. If you own any of have fished them i dotn mind some insight!
  14. They look okay :-/ id rather go with those new soft plastics forget which brand they have a exact replica of crawls, there freaking incredible. somebody will know what im tlakign about...
  15. its a big rumor abotu the snake being photoshopped, but henstly bass eat snakes, its doable. I would rather go with a 8 inch senko but whatever makes your boat float?
  16. I do 2 things 1 is th bass pro shop lure retreiver along with many othe rmethods i use to retreive a lure wich i will explain 3. I also throw all my baits on ultra light braided line example 2 Lb diameter 10 Lb test it doesnt ruin the action of my lures and will withstand me pullign on it till a tree comes to the surface from 20 Ft of water so i can pull my crank off it. I also use larger braids but not many people like doing this due to the fact all the pros say it takes alot of actions away from lures lol, but thats becuase they have sponsers to protect, if you think im full of it buy a underwate rcamera and experiment im not full off it! Okay other than braid and lure retreivers i have 3 techniques i use to retreive my lures! #1 go dirrectly over spot you are hung at lower rod into water see if you can feel the lure or structure than snap rod tipp upward. #2 Go directly above the lure and snap the rod in a oppiste direction from the directionj you were retreiveign the lure....Example if you were retreiveing it toward you , go to where the lure is hung and pull in the opposite direction as from where your boat was previously located. Hard to understand i know sorry for that..... #3 the snap really doesnt work with braided line due to no strech, only flaw braid has, but place the slack line in your left hand and hold your rod int the right, the slack line im refering to is the line just off the spool, snap it back like a rubber band and pull upwards with your rod tip, If the lure doesnt come up in the first 5 trys, then you can always just try fishign a dirreent lure in that spot hopeign to snag your previouse line to return both lures back to you. Hope that helps?
  17. i hate jigs also but lets be honest why do we hate a bait that has proven itself for years? Becuase we hate fishing slow, I am a power fisherman i throw lure after lure ill give 1 spot 13 different lures before i move on to another place. Im one of those guys who ties his knots fast and will change lures between the other guys casts. I cant stand spending a hour wasted on the water but lately my feelings have changed i have become aware that since the spawn ended this year i went on a no more worms rampage, i spent all spawn with senkos, and thought i would hurt my overall performance with just useign 1 lure so i bought every thing i could get my hands on literally if it was in the 10-2 dollar range i have bought it! I just got into patterning the bass this year i mean i never really understood bass fishing till this year, i learned alot due to these forums, bassinsider, bassmaster,espn2,books. I have poured so munch information into my mind about power fishign that i forgot how i got started old zom worms with a zebco 33 classic, 10 years ago..... I promised my self before next spawn i will know every lure i own inside and out, so far jigs are my last lure to master. I dont want to be one of those guys who knows alot about a little, i want to be one of those guys who knows a little about alot. Once i buy a depth finder i believe my problems with the jig will be over, i find it funny though the lake behind my house doesnt have crawdads, so i dotn really know what these bass think of my jigs haha, i bet they know whats going on. Another sucess recently of mine is i have got pretty good at deep fishing withotu a depth finder 20 is deepest so far, i cant get anything deeper but winter is arriveing we shall see.
  18. Oh dude this is great web site with info on useign a tora to troll here you go just found it for you http://www.canyon-plastics.com/articles/tora_trolling.htm
  19. just found this on a web site man Mike Long, whose 20-pound, 12-ounce Dixon Lake behemoth is only the second 20-plus-pounder so far this century, searches for big sows with giant tubes. His reigning favorite is a 7-inch Tora Tube in either bluegill or rainbow trout colors. He glues a rattle to the shank of an offset hook, then dabs just enough resin to the hook[ch65533]s head to hold the skirt. He drifts the tube in deeper water anywhere he finds an aggressive male bass guarding a nest and is frequently rewarded with a territorial sow. there you go
  20. i just bought soem myself, The pro ISH Manroe the black guy on tour used them and a white vixen from reaction inovvations, he sued them in the spawn to get close to the beds and make the bass angry since it is such a huge bait it should make a bass nerves and quicker to want to destroy it to protect its eggs or fry. Im saveign mine till next spring for the spawn but ill throw 1 out this fall to see what happpens i bought the rainbowtrout becuase it looks like a bass in so many ways you can fish it weedless or put a jig inside it and fish it on the bottom in the deep. Its a Big bass lure but can catch 2 Lb bass easily.
  21. Oh yea baby hot mustard and bluegill, if that dotn work use the multispeiecs and the shad silver and black. Multispecies is one my if nothign else is workign becuase its silver, yellow, blue, green, red and black.
  22. x rap, jigs, crank and pause with cranks, walkthe dog type topwater lures and senkos. Spinnerbaits do the trick but are sometimes to fast for what the bass want where i live. Im guessing you could also fish shallow any dark spots in the water such as stumps and riprap shoudl be great places wince they absorb heat from the sun and bass tend to draw near to them for comfort and heat. You cant go wrong with the senko any depth just let if fall then reel it in, i normally fish the senko fast since 90% of my strikes are on the fall i just wait till i hit the right spot. Fat ikas would be a good idea for smallies since your up north.
  23. Okay heres the thing i dont have a depth finder yet and really see know need for one since i only use my ghenee in small lakes( okay 11-20 acre ponds. I fish big lakes with buds ion there bass boats and poontoons. ANY WAY! okay i just found my my self stuggling alot this fall and winters coming up deep water always provides bass with planty of great places to hide examples would be brush piles, riprap, manmade structures, grass edges, ledges, and stumpes you cant see. Well i found my self getting into this jig craze i hate jigs but i bougt like 10 mann stone jigs and been fishing with them evey tiem out at first i didnt know where to start so i would just get Mad and start cranking till i hit a brush pile or something thats when i would crank in a 360 degree angle around my boat finding all the structure i could hit. Then i would cast the jig along the botom and just hit the structure. I sure you guys mite already know this but this is for guys just getting into the sport. As for my luck with jigs still nothign im very honest but i know where the structures are that the fish should be on. Also try and get a good idea what depth the fish should be at you can easily measrue th edepth your at by dropign a jig beside your boat and pull the line up every time the line is as long as your rod mark the depth. Example a 7 ft rod would have 7 ft of line from tip of your rod to the butt, you can do this over and over addign the line up til your jig is in sight then just make a rough esimate on the remander of line that is shorter than your rod. Hopefully i just made someones time on the water a little easier yurstruely
  24. I love the discontinued flappin craws, from gary yamamoto, i got mine odered really fast from jbcoutfitters theres a guy with htis bait as his icon, i clicked his link there.i odered standard shipping and got them in 4 days so yea there great but sad to see them go since i just got into jigs.
  25. OUCH :-/ Perfect example why i always used it extended outwards with my hands away from the boat... hmm dont worry though i learned the hard way too, fishign from back i dumped the whole thing in my old plano box, needles to say spike it will eat a whole through soft plasticsa when it has covered more then half of them, also you can go ahead and throw out your tackle if you get the stuff out you still have dyed cranks, sucks when your useing blue or red. Um as for cleanign the boat, Orange clean,Kaboom, maybe pressure washign fluid with a presure washer. I dunno be VERY CAREFUL with the presure washer if you take that road agian i learned the hard way, i lost some sidding on the side of my parents house when i was washign my turch next to it lol..... Hope i helped you some
