  1. I go anywhere from 35 minutes to 1.5 hours away 3 times a week. I HAVE to fish though, it keeps me sane.
  2. Not always will they go ahead and spawn. Sometimes eggs will be re-absorbed because she didn't spawn.
  3. You can catch bass all day....big girls 12-4pm
  4. I also use some cheapos. they work fine. I have lost revos, oakleys, etc
  5. I think it would be easier to have an actual to scale size, then we can print the picture, and trace onto the sheetmetal. I don't have alot of powertools, what did you cut the sheetmetal with? I can provide my email address, if you would be so kind to send me an actual scale blade template. Thanks
  6. Anyone got a die cut, or pressing the blades? I would like to make my own, but obviously only want the blade. Thanks
  7. Got mine a week ago and it looked good to me.
  8. Welcome
  9. I took a buddy fishing the other day, and he didn't get a license that morning (just turned him on to fishing) I HARPED and harped on him.......game warden came, and LUCKILY he even had the OPTION to get a temp license (apparently in OK. they just came up with that option.) Yeah a ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLAR ticket, had he not had the option to buy a 30 day license. The life-time license costs 225$ lol Get the license. period.
  10. So who else is sitting (on a GORGEOUS Friday afternoon mind you), at work and it's almost time to go? Who always is thinking about fishing and finding them? Any of you have it this bad? ;D I decided from a straw, Microsoft paint, and a picture of an aquarium peacock bass, that this would help my angst lol. I even made the bass "swim" right by a stand made from paper and a stapler. Have a fun weekend
  11. Anywhere from 18 inches to whatever really. from the bank (and depending on how deep it got out where you are casting) I would go with about 15 inches. Retrieving it....slowly bring the sinker across the bottom, keeping constant contact with the bottom. it's not really meant however to reel it. You cast the rig out, let the bait fall, the slowly jig it back up until you feel the weight, and let the bait fall again. You fish it like this for a while, then reel to MOVE the bait and repeat. Make sense?
  12. Like everyone said, spots fight good, the ones I've always caught had very dark lateral spots/lines, and the patch (teeth) on the tongue.
  13. No thanks for you all!!!!
  14. Big Bass zone, In Pursuit of monster bass, sowbelly, the book of black bass (or on black bass something I forget)....watched almost every bass pro dvd, etc.
  15. Structure is in EVERY BODY OF WATER we fish. It can be VERY subtle where (this is an example) the rocks meet the water way, there will be somewhere in the water where they stop and the bottom is now the bottom. This is an edge, also structure. Any depth change from a flat to deeper water, a channel etc etc Depending on where you are located, you can still find some spawning. I would go where they WERE spawning, and fish it BACK to the deeper surrounding water. You can also go on an edge fishing day (fishing every edge you find like where grass comes out and then stops, points where there are edges etc) and just edges, or you can even go topwater all day.
  16. Hello fellow angler and welcome to the addiction.
  17. No he was asleep, he's never defeated.
  18. I don't use braided but always keep scissors because of reasons like this. Great tip for those that do....thanks for posting
  19. bass times and bassmaster. online.......EVERYTHING i can.
  20. Out of the options. none of the above. jerkbaits, or jigs for me (especially around cover)
  21. I have the RF-30. I like it, because I can cast it out and just leave it there, or whatever. It was cheap too.
  22. I prefer to fish them weightless on calm days (i.e. no wind) for the simple fact it's SO easy to catch bass. When you throw the lure out, you can actually watch the line and the fall rate...anything faster than that, is a fish! 1/2 the time the fish will actually engulf the bait and you don't realize it....like the photo below. it was in the gullet > this one was caught yesterday by fishing a senko weightless. (DON'T worry, I got the hook out by the diagram shown on this site...i took the hook out right after this photo, and she lived) to recap throw it out, the line will fall at "x" rate, watch the FRONT of the line and the back on the line (around the rod) and you'll see every strike.
  23. Topwater would be a blast there. A spinner bumping off wood would be ideal too. From there, I'd go jig, senkos, maybe finesse if they spook
