  1. Dogbone, could you private message me the location(town) of the kettle pond and what the average depth is. I’ve fished all over the Cape. Just trying to get an idea in my head of the other bodies of water might be. My brother is 919ProXp. So we know the Cape better than most. Not all kettle ponds down there, freeze the same way, if at all. I am trying to come up there President’s week. Hopefully, there is safe ice down there still.
  2. Hopefully, It shuts down, for you two! 919ProXP is my brother. He likes to send me the pics while fishing. Hopefully, the Cape gets some safe ice this year, I might not make it up there for it. But, I have pulled several 5+ lbers through the ice, on the cape.
  3. Dunk n dinks, If you still troll this board, I sent you a private message.
  4. Massyak85, Where did you go, if you don’t mind me asking.
  5. FYI, Wequaquet lake Coves freeze up pretty quick, if it does freeze up. I use to fish the coves, ice fishing, many moons ago. And, Sheeps pond by the boat ramp would freeze up first too. If the Cape gets solid enough ice to fish this year, most of everyone on this board, would be crazy not to go. I used to catch 4lb largemouth averages through the ice at several cape ponds. And, I’m talking about 10-15 fish a day. The bigger ones tend be the more aggressive ones in the water. It’s a simple matter of being bigger, they are more active.
  6. My brother has the Native Titan 10.5 propel and it’s a tank. It’s nice, but heavy has hell. I’d look at the native Slayer propel max 10 or 12.5 . Yes, they are pricey, but compared to the Hobie’s, much much cheaper. One thing to consider too, is the 10 footers to 10.5 footers get blown around a little easier in thecc CD wind. The longer pedal drive kayaks track better in rougher water too!
  7. I’ve caught and lost several Pike on the concord river. I’ve seen big pike too(15+ lbs). I’ve caught mine in the late fall. When all the scum is up in the rivers, they’ll lurk in there. If you can punch through that heavy stuff, senko catch them. 6-7” senko, jigs, big spinnerbaits(1oz).
  8. If your fishing the concord river right now, Fish Fairhaven bay. Don’t start fishing the river until Mid June, when all the pads and scum are in the river systems. They’ll be moving to deep water after the spawn. The bay is it.
  9. I’ll be in Mass. this upcoming weekend 05/14 till 05/23. If anyone can give me an update on the conditions on the cape, it will be greatly appreciated. Water temps, are they in the prespawn stage still, on beds. Just trying to make sure I bring the right gear home. Also, I fish the smaller bodies of waters like Sheep’s pond, Hinkleys, Seymour and the other bodies of water that are similar, all over the cape! many thanks
  10. gjfisher, Don’t give up on using jigs. I was like you once, I had no confidence in them. But, they have been constantly my biggest fish producing bait. Buy yourself a bunch of the Strike King Denny Brauer Baby Structure jigs in 1/4 oz. size (black/blue and green pumpkin purple); as a trailer use the baby rage craws(3”) size, same color patterns. I was fishing a jig this past Thursday on a southern NH lake and caught close to 30 fish on jigs and spinnerbaits. I caught 2 5+lb largemouth last week on spinnerbaits, my brother caught one that was a few ounces shy of 7lbs; we were fishing Squam lake in NH. Both on spinnerbaits. They are feeding now, getting ready to spawn sometime in May, don’t be afraid to throw big plastic baits too. Find structure(wood, rock, stone embankments) and especially transition spots, usually between 7-10 feet of water.
  11. For jigs, black n blue. Go with 1/4oz to 3/8oz. Buy the Strike king Denny Brauer baby structure jigs. Great jigs. If you want non lead, look at the Keitech casting jigs. For a trailer, look at craw and creature style baits, stay 3” to under.
  12. Hopefully, 2021 is the year. It’s starting out on a positive, so far, for my family and friends. My brother got rid of his 21 year old champion bass boat; was going to stick with kayak fishing and fish with our good friend who just bought a triton 18x, a few weeks ago. Well, we happened to see a 2020 Phoenix 919 pro xp for sale in Dracut, Ma on ***. The guy lives 2 miles from my brother, and friends of ours fish in the same club as him. My brother talked to the guy and got the boat for an amazing deal. 18 hours on the motor and it’s loaded. I’ll be coming up this May for sure. Working as first responder for the federal government, in Washington D.C, I’m sure I’ll be getting the Covid vaccine sometime before that. sorry I’m so long winded, just hoping to get back up there and fish a lot in 2021. Happy Holidays
  13. Anyone have any recent water temps of ponds and lakes on cape cod?
  14. I also have several of the beast coast lil hustler jigs. They are really nice.
