  1. I like the kayak a lot! It does one issue that I don't like and that's the rudder. Dropping and lifting it is a real pain and super stiff. It's a problem a lot of people have with no real fix. The pedal drive is super smooth although it does make a little noise but, for the price nothing that is a real problem. Its a super light kayak i would say maybe 70-75lbs compared to my previous feelfree lure 13.5 that was around 105-110lbs. If you're on a budget it's for sure a great choice. It wont let me upload pics because it says under 700kb guess my iPhone pics are over that.
  2. Thanks man! I actually pulled the trigger and ordered one. Next price point for pedal yak was 2399 (btw I hate the look and design of the manga ray although it's 1999$). I just ain't got that budget. So now I got PP12, a paddle and lowrance hook 4x all for under 2000$. It's kinda hard to beat that price point! although not many bells and whistles it seems perfect for someone like me that likes to customize most of the stuff to my needs and wants. Will post pics once it arrives!
  3. Idk what to tell ya then... that tire does look awfully low. Looks like it's touching the floor. ? Let us know what fix u came up with. Be interested to know.
  4. If you can shell out 100-300 more I would go with the feel free lure 10 or 11.5. This is honestly the best paddle fishing kayak on the market and with the overdrive system coming out and there new torpedo yak they will easily be the top brand fishing kayaks! Stable, strong, spacious and the most comfortable kayak chair ever invented! Seriously take a look at them and save a little more and get that you won't regret it.
  5. I would just weld a couple bars in between the trailer right under the bow. And mount the tire there. Kinda like the triton boat trailers. Or just throw the spare in the back of the truck. 99% of the time if you need a spare on your trailer it will be with your truck. Just my .02 cents.
  6. A penny for your thoughts on the pescador pilot 12 pedal kayak? I want a new kayak I just sold my lure 13.5. I loved it but I want a pedal drive kayak now. Only thing I'm not liking about the pescador is the pin lock for the pedal system. Anyone that has one or tested one any thoughts?
  7. I just moved to to Arizona from Washington but I'm the 2 years I fished WASHINGTON state my largest was 7.2lb LMB and 3.84lb SMB. Hopefully the bass fishing in AZ is even better! ?
  8. Boat 2. Seems like it's ready to go. Has guages, fish finder and trolling motor. Semi v and v hull will both break through the water. Plus you only plan on fishing smaller lakes. Creating a box for battery and gas shouldn't be that hard. If it were me I would always take something that has everything and ready to go over something almost finished that needs more money and work put into it. Just my $0.02
  9. Congrats on new boat! 1. 36# should get you around the lake just fine but won't win a race. 2. Transom mount on leveled front could work but with some slight mods like a lifted motor bracket and reversing the head on trolling motor. 3. Anchor size is plenty unless you're in 15mph or higher winds but even then probably still fine. 4. It's a personal preference. I used to have a rear mount with a tiller handle extension so I could sit up front or in the back and still control the motor.
  10. I used to throw my old yak straight in the bed of my pick up with a couple ratchet straps... Now I have a lure 13.5 and do the same but have a bed extender to support the end.
  11. I would choose kayak over canoe all day everyday. Although the NuCanoe is kinda a hybrid, but still so pricey for just a shell. I would choose a kayak and if you were really really worried about stability buy the widest kayak and if still worried add some outriggers for even more stability. Lure kayak is 36" wide... Atak is 34" wide both have more width than a 1032 Jon boat.
  12. My first kayak had a milk crate it was a tamarack 120 but got way to small for me I'm 6'2" 195lbs... I think the pelican strike is good choice if you want brand new or CL for used. This picture was the tamarack 120
  13. I was actually talking to the OP. Who are you?
  14. Have you thought about a pelican strike 120x? Don't know your price range but that might be good for you... Maybe let us know a price range and others can help a bit more
  15. The sides shouldn't really matter. My fiberglass boat is the same. Sides flex about an 1" or 2. Main area of concern I would imagine is the seats the deck sits on and the actual design of the casting deck you build (brace points). People have been making decks on the 1032 Jon boats and those are some really thing aluminum boats. I think you should be fine.
