  2. d**n that is awesome advice that I'm going to follow. I really appreciate it! you da man keith! hoping to go out this weekend but might be cold i especially like the idea of supreme quiet and the throw one lure change to the next. gonna see how that works for me. I caught a lot of fish in the lake last year but the biggest bass was only 2.6 lbs and a three lb chain pickerel there are big one there though I'm sure. stealth here i come
  3. thanks all. guess ill try and tie better or use the swivel. My super slick braid is bright green and I'm afraid nothing will bite it.
  4. do i really need a transparent leader with my braided line? I'm not great at knots and therefore i worry
  5. i bought the st croix 7' legend elite. paired with a stella fi 2500. tried today for first time. liked it but too cold still to catch
  6. hamma thats really helpful. the lake is pretty clear year round so ill try some green pumpkin also. rubber worms seem to be the best, tried a few casts off shore today and saw a decent pickerel following but couldn't get the bites today. think its still too cold. will pull the jon boat out next weekend and super excited. hopefully i hit em. wonder when bass spawn on the cape?
  7. can i tied a swivel directly to the braid guy seemed to say i needed a leader and I'm not great at knots

  12. cape cod i like to use a Keitech FAT Swing Impact Bluegill Flash lure but wonder if i should be using something else. fish a lake across the street from my house a lot always cath bass and some pickerel but never over 3 lbs. people say there are really big bass in there
  13. fishing mostly rubber worms. Its a st croix legend elite 2 piece 7" ML. i get two piece cause i can be more mobile with it. g loomis is 1 piece and thats why i didnt get it. does 2 piece really suck compared to one piece?
  14. cool i just got one can't wait to fish this weekend even though its still probably too cold?
  15. not sure i understand what you are saying keith?
  16. thanks darren. been using regular 8 lbs test up until now. i;ll tell the guy at Bass pro to load 10 lb braid. is it harder to cast?
  17. thanks man I'm such a rookie i guess. started fishing last year when i bought a place next to a lake. i can't get enough of it. you like the st croix? also i;ll go get the stella which feels like butter spooled this weekend. So you would suggest a 10 lb braid right?
  18. also using a st st croix rod and stella reel
  19. why so heavy? isn't light weight line more sensitive? what does braid really mean?
  20. thanks all helpful. i mostly fish rubber worms because thats where i catch most of my fish. I fish from a canoe with a trolling motor. Most success throwing in toward the bank but never really catch anything bigger than 3 lbs. there are some trees over hanging but mostly open. lots of lilly pads near banks. Catch a lot but want quality not quantity. i also don't have experience with plastic lures crank baits or jigs so don't catch much on them. any advice is appreciated. looking at the st croix ML 7' 2 piece. thoughts?
  21. i in MA and fish a small lake in cape cod. Largest was only 3 lbs and that was using a silver rubber worm. The bass bite these rubber worms well. I use a few different sizes and catch a lot more so than green, or purple worms. Feells like they like my worm but yet to pull in a real pig. I know they are in there. any help on how to catch?
