  1. Thinking about hitting up Lone Star, DoCo, or Gardner this weekend. Has anyone been to any of these recently? And if so, how’s it been?
  2. Hit up Leavenworth with my dad and son Saturday morning. Water temp was 42 and the wind was blowing pretty hard. Dad caught a couple right off the bat with a jerkbait real close to the bank (NE arm) which I found surprising. Tried drifting over the flats with a wind sock throwing jerkbaits with no luck. Aside from those early two, no other bites... We’re real interested in getting the permits to try out the JoCo lakes this year. SMP sounds promising, but does anyone have reports on some of the others? KillCreek, Lake Lenexa (Blackhoof), and the new one just west of Desoto (I can’t remember the name)?
  3. Yeah, I’ve had my eye on this thread for quite some time!
  4. Thanks for the reply’s. In addition to the 4 baitcasters I have 2 spinning reels (on el cheapo rods) that I will use for finesse (Ned’s, Shaky’s, etc). So I will put the fast reel on the heavy rod, and get some 15# and 12# flouro for the MH rod combos as suggested. As for the jig/frog reel/rod, should I use the 20# flouro, or maybe throw some braid on? BPS currently has the pro grade Trilene fluorocarbon B1G1 Is this good stuff?
  5. Hey all, FNG here. Im looking for advice on how to set up my rod/reel combos in the most efficient way. Heres what I have. Curado 200i (6.3:1) Falcon HD 7’ H Curado 200i (6.3:1) Falcon HD 7’ MH Revo X (7.3:1) Falcon Original 7’ MH Curado Bantam (5:1) Falcon Original 6’6 MH These rod/reel combos are how I currently have them arranged but I can change them around as needed. I fish mainly small lakes (300 acres and less) in Eastern Kansas. In the past, I have thrown mainly Texas rigs, Senkos, crankbaits, and spinner baits on Stren Original 14# test. This is year I want to up my game and be a better fisherman. I have bought a bunch of new tackle and want to try a bunch of new things (swimbaits, Jigs, jerkbaits, frogs, whopper plopper, etc). How should i set set up my existing rods/reels for each new technique I want to try? I want to try fluorocarbon and braid. Any help/advice appreciated!
