  1. Really? I've been a member for a while. I don't even remember when I last logged in to post on a forum or even browsed to see what's up. I check articles and videos and that's it. I'm in the market for a firearm and noticed the new (for me) forum and just with much of my fishing gear reviewed here, I figured "cool, new forum". First post I check there's some dude telling Glenn to put something somewhere. They run a fine site with quality information and a standard of conduct. If you don't don't like how it's done then POP OFF and don't come back.
  2. Been real busy and noticed I didn't have any new tournaments TIVO'ed. So, I didn't really catch on to the E series schedule til lately but, who in heavens name came up with this schedule? What sport starts, gets going good and then takes a two month break? What a crock!!!
  3. $150.00 for greens fees :o Where do you play, Augusta? That's crazy. I'd never golf again if it was that much. Hit 18 yesterday w/cart for $16.00 and had a blast. I like doing both. A round of golf in the morning and a relaxing afternoon fishing or vice versa is a perfect day.
  4. Keep the rod tip down near the water and don't give em' any slack.
  5. Last week there was the discussion of charcoal vs. gas. This past weekend, as I worked some chicken breasts over on the gas grill, I wondered about some of the favorite sauces used. I had Sweet Baby Ray's to use but my personal favorite is Cattlemens Classic. What are some of your personal favorites and if you like to make your own, and the recipe isn't ancient chinese secret, maybe you could share?

  7. I wouldn't be as concerned about the size of the fish you may catch. That's why the drag settings are important. Instead, consider the cover you fish. Is it timber or rocks or anything that can ding the line up or get you wrapped up? If the answer is yes, the cover is thick-then you want to bump up in line size. Or, for your own piece of mind just go ahead and put heavier line on, it won't hurt much. Also, respool new line throughout the season. Check the line often while you're fishing and retie if you find a nick in the line.
  8. US Army Reserve Engineers 1994-present. Staff Sergeant. OIF 1, Tikrit, Iraq. Mar. 2003- May 2004. Training up for another round to deploy this fall. I appreciate your thoughts!
  9. Don't be so hard on yourself. Are the kids having fun? I want to believe that most of the kids are there because they want to play. School will be out soon enough and that will help.
  10. Late? Agreed! Doesn't leave much time for homework. You have to schedule games if you want to have a season. If scheduling fields is an issue, meaning there are not enough for the league size, then you have to manage it as best you can to get all the games in within the season. I agree with you and have felt the same way, but I also have seen the difficulty in scheduling. The kids will be alright. PLAY BALL!!!

  12. Getting stuck out in a huge thunderstorm with just enough raingear for the wife, and I get soaked. Then, going out the next day by myself and getting stuck in a huge thunderstorm with no raingear at all because it was hung out to dry and left behind. Yeah, I got soaked again.
  13. I'd put the Accurist on the lightning rod and spool it with 14#mono for my spinners and topwater. I think it works well for worming too. My first setup inc. a 6"6"med Lighting rod, I used it for everything. abu on the med. heavy and spool that with 14# aswell for worms and cranks. The 7ft rod would be great for cranking too, but thats about all I would use it for IMO. If I knew I was gonna do a lot of crankin, I'd bring the rod along and swap as necessary for the longer casts. I like a 7ft. spinning rod so I'd put that cardinal there with the 8# line.
  14. The Clarus is a good rod for the money. I own two.
  15. When I buy beer for the fridge at home its Old Milwaukee!!!! All that fancy stuff is a bit pricey so its not my beer of choice. While at the bar its either bud light or miller lite because so few bars carry America's best testing beer...Old Miwaukee
  16. could be anybody. some people are jerks. retaliatory action only makes another wrong and he won't put the two together. yeah, i'd be a little upset, but don't sweat the small stuff.
  17. Each has its place. I've switched to Flouro for bottom and mid depth fishing 17# Pline flouro. Topwater stuff is mono 12# Big Game. I also have 12#mono on a cranking stick.
  18. I don't understand the difference for recommending 65# braid or 25-30# mono for pitching and flipping. Is it the equivalent diameter? Why not use 20 or 25# braid? Just wondering :-/
  19. I got the pflueger lady trion for the wife. I think it an awesome spinning setup and (don't tell anybody :-X) sometimes use it when she isn't looking. She really loves her Quantum Accurist.
  20. I use 12# Big Game. Probably because I have a spool of the stuff and can't buy more til the spool is gone. Sorta like a clean your plate before you get more ;D When I buy again, I plan on 14# Mono.
  21. Huge fan!!! Prine Rocks!!!! Danced to "In Spite of Ourselves," his duet with Iris Dement, at my wedding reception. 8-) Karoake'd "Grampa was a Carpenter" last Friday. Good Stuff
  22. Morning guy! Get out there early, coffee in hand, with the whole day ahead of you. Sky's the limit! Birds a chirpin...mist on the still water...creating the first ripple of the day as the bait lands...too cool my brothers and sisters! Like magic!
  23. No big deal. Mama need a new pair of shoes! Whatever it takes to make a living.
