i realized recently that the bass around me feed on bluegill but i have been using perch type lures. I have an ugly crankbait and i was thinking i could turn it into a bluegill patterned medium runner. even if i couldnt what color lures best imitate bluegills?
how do you make yours? i just take mangled ones and melt them together with a glue gun. my mini spider grub caught a few crappies already but im still wondering what to put on my bass creature
has anyone had luck with plastic creatures? i began making my own that combines some good features bass like. and i think it is pretty good but i havent used it yet. I slither it across brush piles in my cichlid tank and the fish respond to it but dont exacly strike.
i hear the yamamoto Kreature is good
ive been making my own creatures but i havent tried them yet. plastic lures tear apart then you melt them together and make your own masterpiece. you dont need to mold and pour plastics for some good old homemade ones
what would they be? i wish i had a Lip less Megabass Crank in fathead minnow pattern. Fatheads seem to be every where and ive yet to see a lure like one. Id also like to see some more realistic bluegill pattern lures
they are matzuo, a small name brand. ill invest in a sinking rattler
anyway i trashed the split rings where you tie on the knot. they screw up its action
i got a 5 pack of rattling crankbaits (lipless) and i was wondering of the 5 i got which should be the most efective:
Firetiger (has some shine to it)
Chrome and black back
Bronze and black back
Copper and black back
Chrome and blue
i dont know. it was a steal, i bought them for 2.50 total!
ive used crayfish as feeders for my fish. when my dempsey looks at it, the crayfish knows to scoot backward with the occassional jump and then the dempsey clobers him. its cool having preditory fish when you know you fish for predators (bass) so you can study similar behavior
so i would reel in and jig right?
im goin fishing tommorow so ill try my T rig lizard. do multiple hooks help?
actually, just that one was deformed. the other 9 i tested in my cichlid tank and they swam fine with regular action. my jack dempsey tried to bite it but i didnt want to take any chances.
thanks, and i guess a lizard profile attracts strikes, but it gives off less vibration.
i usually use the t-rig because it it drags on the bottom and you can bump it off of rocks. there is no real open areas in my local lake
matzuo rattles in bronze-ish. it looks like a shiny crayfish color.
i dont use crankbaits but i do use hard jerkbaits. id go for yo zuri crystal minnow
i seemed to have been doing good but my lizard luck has been getting lower and lower. i dont know what color to use because i used all my black/red flake and i have some watermelon. are watermelon good? should i go carolina or texas?
these watermelon lizards dont have very good action. for some reason, their leggs dont always swim
