  1. Yes, I was one of the people in the 14 foot white aluminum v-bottom boat with the 9.9 evenrue motor. When you were putting your boat in the water, we were fishing next to the ramp in the marina. Before we bought the aluminum I usually fished out of a canoe. We live on the lake so we don't have to put the boat in at the marina, thus no other vehicles there.
  2. If you don't want to use the ned rig, dynamite is the closest thing to it. Kind of hard to do catch and release though.
  3. Went fishing this afternoon for a little less than four hours, but didn't do any where near as well as T-9. The total fish count was three pumpkin seeds, three white bass, and seven largemouth. The white bass were on steep riprap banks in two to seven feet of water on the roostertails. The bass were on steep riprap shorelines near shallow water in three to ten feet of water, all of them on the jerkbait.
  4. Not sure what you mean, but shipping is usually free over 40$, and if they don't they have free shipping some other sale is always going on like 20% off, fifteen over fifty off, etc..
  5. Z-man doesn't have anything real similar, but they do have several different swimbaits that do work very well. try looking at there website to see if anything interests you.
  6. First off, in order to get the right wacky action, you should definitely rig it perpendicular. A good way to do a weedless wacky rig is to wacky rig like normal, and then insert the hook point a half an inch to one side of where you first inserted it and push it part way through. But don't push it completely through the worm, stop just short of going through the skin of the worm.
  7. I don't know about the veritas, but if they are any where near as sensitive as the villain they would be great for fishing jigs. Just for future reference though, fishing factory outlet usually has the veritas for fifty dollars and the villain for sixty.?
  8. Sorry to flood you with questions, but what were you using, and what kind of depths were they holding at?
  9. Early pre-spawn, the water temperature here is 51degrees, but this cold front will slow them down and possibly push them out deeper.
  10. It does look like a meanmouth, I had never heard of them before.
  11. Welcome to the forums, and that's a big bass to.
  12. Sounds like a spotted bass to me. They don't get nearly as large as largemouth do.
  13. Yep, it's a very nice smallmouth. A Largemouth's jaw extends at least to the eye and sometimes farther.
  14. Try some of the ponds around there, it looks like there are a number of them. They warm up faster than larger lakes in the spring, and are usually small enough that you can cast to any point in the pond. Sometimes ponds only have small, stunted fish but occasionally you will find a true gem of a pond.
  15. Nicely detailed report, and some awesome fish to.
  16. That's a monster spot, and the crappie is very nice to. I'm glad you released the crappie, some guys don't understand how important the big crappie are to a lake.
  17. I haven't used the hybrid line, but I have tried the other two. I'll start out with big game, it is definitely the best mono for the money. It has a little more stretch and a little more memory than other mono, but it is much better than other mono any where near it's price range. All around decent line. The gliss monofiliment line is without a doubt the best line I have tried. It is similar to braided line in that it floats and that it has no stretch, but unlike braid it isn't braided, so it does not have any roughness or texture to it at all, gliss is completely smooth. It is also about half of the diameter of braid, which combined with being completely smooth makes it easily the farthest casting line ever, without a doubt. As far as the line deteriorating over time, I have been using it four to five times a week since last September without any issues.
  18. A fishing buddy of mine pulled a 11.6 pounder out of a small gravel pit last year. I'd post a pic, but he swore me to secrecy of the location. That same gravel pit has since produced several bass between five and ten pounds to us, which is huge for Indiana (home of the country's worst bass fishing).
  19. Nice smallie on the jerkbait. Once you gain confidence in a jerkbait, it's such a fun way to fish you won't want to put it down again!
  20. Nope, whatever I like and find on sale. No brand pays me to use there stuff, so why should I be loyal to them? That being said, my favorite brand is pfluegar, but I own several Abu Garcia's and Diawas.
  21. Calm down a little bit, everyone is entitled to there opinion so there is no need to argue about it. It is becoming very apparent that you aren't going to change each other's mind anyway. You don't want to get David's thread shut down.
  22. Although it is unlikely that a kid is going to break a cheap pair of sunglasses from swinging on a fish and missing, when they are first starting out they will often cast backwards or sideways. I have had my eyes saved three times by my impact resistant sunglasses from kids casting.
  23. Does anyone white bass fish on here? I fish for them fairly often, about a quarter of my trips are targeting white bass. Lately the big pre-spawn females have been biting on roostertails like crazy.
  24. That's a big bass, it looks like it swallowed a small bowling ball! I hope you return safely to continue slaying the trophy bass, and thank you for serving in our great nations military.
  25. Would simply cutting part of the screw lock off and bending the remaining wire into the shape of a wire keeper work? I would rather not modify the mold if I don't have to.
