  1. Thanks for all of the reply's guys! I decided to go with replacing my vision 110 with the same model, and I found an awesome deal on a pointer 78 so I picked that up to.
  2. Those things are painful when they stab you with there pain poison loaded spines, they burn like fire for hours.
  3. What MassYak85 said. I once made the mistake of using braid with a leader once with swimbaits, and the leader knot caught on the guide mid-cast and my swimbait flew off. I again re-learned this mistake last weekend while using a vision 110 tied to braided line, the braid tangled around a guide mid-cast and the braid didn't have any stretch to absorb the shock, so I again learned an expensive lesson on why I don't use braid with heavy or expensive lures.
  4. Tw has the megabass Live-x Margay jerkbait on sale for 17.99.
  5. I was planning on getting a megabass trick darter, but I lost my my vision 110 yesterday so I have to decide weather to replace my vision 110, get a 110 junior, Live-x margay step-cat, or a trick darter. I assume the trick darter or step-cat would be the best one for numbers of fish, but maybe the vision 110 would have better drawing power? Or maybe the 110 junior would be a good compromise? I think i'll get whichever one you guys think would be best for numbers of bass, since that's usually my goal in the fall and winter.
  6. 7'ish heavy power fast action (possibly medium heavy depending on what your gonna use it for) mojo bass rod. Pair that up with a lew's LFS spooled with fifty pound braid and your set for about two hundred dollars.
  7. Not sure weather it's a spot or a largie, but I am sure that the fish probably should not have made it past the tournaments measuring official, it doesn't look anywhere near twelve inches.
  8. Its been proven that eggs do not stick to birds and do not survive being transported to a different lake/pond, like it or not that's a fact. You really can't explain the presence of fish in waters that humans haven't had the ability or access to transport fish into, not without believing that at one point there was a massive influx of water which distributed fish to different areas, including secluded lakes.
  9. I fished yesterday afternoon for about four hours, and this afternoon for about two and a half hours. The jerkbait bite was on fire yesterday, caught 37 bass with eleven over fifteen inches. Started out catching them on the vision 110, but about an hour into fishing the line tangled around one of the micro guides mid-cast, and I watched my $25 jerkbait sail away. I looked for almost an hour in the area it landed, but unfortuanately it must have slowly sunk. After that I switched to a two and a half inch husky jerk and finished off the day with that, but it was not near as effective as the 110. The fish were suspended and schooled up over shallow grass in three to eight feet of water. Water temperature was down to 62, and the visibility was almost three feet. Today the bass bite evaporated, I only caught one dink on the ned rig. Switched to white bass and caught eight nice ones in the last hour, all while trolling a 1/8 ounce blue fox flash spinner. It sure is annoying how the fishing changes so much and is so unpredictable in the fall.
  10. I don't even bother painting mine anymore, but when I did I just dipped them into a container of paint and hung them by there hooks on a cardboard box to dry, and usually is used red paint. I started out that way but didn't notice an increase in catch rate, so it wasn't worth the extra trouble for me.
  11. If you don't mind me asking, what lures are those?
  12. Is it really noodling if you don't stick your hand in it's mouth? I believe that the only state that outlaws catching fish with your hands is in Indiana. If I lived there I would be spending a lot of time re-locating those fish, instead of videoing them.
  13. Good point with the larger top waters, I hadn't thought of that. I still prefer a medium heavy with a soft tip for 130 size whopper ploppers and spro rats though, but they could be thrown on a heavy.
  14. How is it different than the pointer 78, other than the slight profile difference and swimming better?
  15. I don't know, I was also going to ask this but I forgot.
  16. I wasn't looking to swim them like a crankbait, more for use as a jerkbait. But thanks for the reply!
  17. Have any of you guys had any issues with the trick darter, specifically with it sinking and not suspending? I've been thinking about getting one to go along with a pointer 78 and small x-rap for my smaller jerkbaits to pick up when i'm going for numbers of fish.
  18. That's a good idea, i'll have to try that next time.
  19. Yep, pretty much the only way i use them is on a 1/16 ounce mushroom jig. I would also use the 1/32 ounce size but my mold only goes down to 1/16 and there aren't any mushroom jig molds on the market with a 1/32 ounce cavity. I really don't care weather the senko (unless it's a tournament i use a knock-off for price reasons) is weightless wacky rigged or weightless texas rigged. I usually start with it rigged texas style since it is less likely to fall off, and once the end get's to torn up to use i wacky rig it so i can get a little extra mileage out of it.
  20. If I had to pick one it would be a suspending jerkbait, but I use many other lures in the fall. A few of my favorites are the suspending jerkbait, ned rig, squarebill crankbait, blade bait, and popper.
  21. Half of a Z-man zinker-z and the senko.
  22. Get some Booyah pad crashers, in both sizes. Only two colors you need are something dark and something light, my favorites are cricket frog and black.
  23. What depth do they run, tw doesn't mention that? Have you had any problems with them suspending?
