  1. I only have three that made the cut. Luckily they are all in the top ten, but its unlikely I'll place well with only three guys.
  2. #4 and #2 mostly, the bigger #1 and #1/0 sizes are big enough that they hinder the subtle action of half a zinkerz. Don't use anything bigger than 3/32 ounce for the Ned rig (I only use this size 5% of the time), you don't want it heavy enough to be able to feel it in the water.
  3. He's getting closer, another keeper and he will be in the top fifty. But kvd is dropping like a rock, he's dropped twenty places since yesterday. Other than those two party wreckers, I unofficially have two in the top three and three in the top ten.
  4. I glue rod tips on using glue made for rod tips, it comes in the Fuji rod tip repair kit. I don't think you can buy the glue from that kit separate, but the kit only costs $8 and has a couple rod tips included for when you break the rod tip and the tip falls into the water.
  5. So you're Pbuckleye. I didn't recognize that name from br, good luck on the next few days. You just might catch him, but with walker on my team I won't be anywhere near the top in this tournament. Asides from him my team is doing OK, but I really wish I chose Seth feider over walker...
  6. I'm ranked 87.8th percentile, and 8th in this group. Nice job alk402, you're solidly beating the rest of us and sitting in an impressive 204th place. Hopefully walker will come back tomorrow and get a big bag, I think most of us would appreciate that.
  7. I don't have any experience fishing in heavy currents, but the Ned rig isn't really designed for it. By the looks of it the bait would be swept away by the current before it reached the bottom. But I don't have any experience fishing in heavy current so I could be wrong.
  8. Ned rig basics a thread that covers everything you need to know on how to fish the Ned rig the right way.
  9. Don't buy anything just cause a pro says it's the best, that big logo on his vest is there for a reason. They're payed by their sponsors, so of course they're going to support they're sponsors. Stick with what you think is best and ignore Scott martens.
  10. Yes, but it would not be a good choice for fishing over weeds that come within two feet of the surface like he described.
  11. The actual standings are way different than basstracker. I had a lot better team on basstracker...
  12. Dicks has a flash sale going on until midnight tonight. Several rods and reels are 50% off, and all ice fishing tackle is 35% off. Plus free shipping over $50.
  13. Here's a link to a thread that details Ned rigging according to Ned Kahde The basics of the Ned rig. It should have all the information needed to start Ned rigging the right way.
  14. Wow, did you do all that with a knife? Looks really good, I like how you carved the fur.
  15. If you guys think it would be helpful for newcomers, adding this to the Ned resource thread or pinning it could help quell some of the Ned questions.
  16. Btw, in case you haven't seen, Wheeler's sitting in second place on Cherokee right now. To the op, I don't pay attention to what the pro's are claiming to use either. Seen to many instances where they claim that they only use brand x crankbaits, then when the pro switches sponsors that new brand of cranks is now the best. Edit, basstracker showed wheelee in 2nd, but it turns out he's actually in 5th.
  17. At least you've still got a solid team, even with walker. I picked walker and kvd, and walker's bombing and kvd is only in 24th in a four way tie. Walker made so much sense and I expected so much out of him, I'm really surprised he isn't doing better.
  18. I sure hope so, I made the mistake of choosing Walker to...
  19. Kvd is catching up, but Ott Defoe hasn't caught a bass since like 9:00 in the morning and is falling behind. At least Jacob Wheeler is in 2nd and David Mullins is in 4th.
  20. The same way you would a Carolina rig. It is basically a Carolina rig with an adjustable, fixed sinker. Usually the best retrieve is simply dragging it across the bottom. Use the lightest weight you can get away with and still stay on the bottom, often around 1/2 ounce depending on depth and current. I usually use either a zoom centipede or a 6-7 inch lizard, but almost anything can be put on the mojo/Carolina rig. A clean bottom is a must (aside from scattered lite cover), and it excels in deep water.
  21. No, but I sure wish I did.
  22. Happy late birthday, glad you could go down to Mexico and catch some more pigs!
  23. Alongside the rattle trap it's my favorite lipless rattlebait. And the answer to the next to two questions are yes and yes.
  24. It's showing Jacob wheeler in 3rd place right now with over fifteen pounds. Got three in the top fifteen right now, but kvd and David walker are bombing.
