  1. True, but I honestly haven't seen anyone throwing the 6th sense flat around here. A lot of times, lure popularity is regional. I'll look into those cranks you mentioned tho, thanks again all for the replies.
  2. Find much for good deals?
  3. I like them fast, with a rock solid backbone and a light tip. Depend on the company for what model that is, with dobyns its a magnum heavy.
  4. Thanks for all of the replies. Definitely going to pick up a 6th sense flat, looks awesome for what I'm going to use it for.
  5. Any of you guys going to the boat show next weekend?
  6. Alright, I'm looking for a specific squarebill. I have a tournament in early April on a lake called potoka, and I expect the water to be about 55 degrees plus or minus 5 degrees. It also tends to run a but stained from what I've heard, around a foot or two most likely. There's also a lot of pressure on the lake, so you have to fish a little differently than everyone else. So I'm looking for a good shallow diving squarebill that has a somewhat narrow wobble cause of the temperature, with some sound cause the mud, but it needs to be a little different sound than most. I'm thinking a lower, one knocker type sound maybe. Do you guys know of any that fit the bill?
  7. I do not know if they really help them engulf the lure or not, but I can tell you that your landing percentage will go way down. Even if you're using stout hooks, those hooks don't do anything for tearing the flesh in their mouth when their just skin hooked on one treble. I like medium fast for shallow cranks and squarebills.
  8. This...
  9. I've been drooling hard over that one, but I really don't need it or have the money... This thread will be my downfall yet lol
  10. Dang man, that was some impressive suck. Shocked Jacob wasn't up there in the standings, unless spots were different enough from what he's used to. Maybe this time I'll remember to go back and actually do some research after my gut picks lol.
  11. Oh yeah, I forgot about frogs and horny toads. Those can be killer on certain lakes, whether they're skipped under docks, fished over slop, up in the newly flooded spring brush, or just walked in open water.
  12. Fish in the post spawn period are for whatever reason usually suspending, and looking up, so I spend most of my time fishing on or near the surface. Even on clear, sunny days. Weightless trick worms, buzzbaits, poppers, and spooks all get a lot of use (rats can be good also), with the weightless trick worm being my favorite. Even though my pink worm gets a lot of laughs, they all stop laughing and start asking when they see 3 and 4 pounders chewing on it like bubblegum
  13. I haven't yet, but I've got a tournament there early/mid April so I'll let you know how that goes.
  14. I forgot the tournament was this weekend lol. My picks are the ones I first put in, before I do any research, except I forgot to go back and do the research
  15. Looks like @NYWayfarer won, congrats! Heck of a game, it took a good measure of luck and some very gutsy calls but the eagles came out on top.
  16. First off, looks like you should maybe get into slider fishing, cause that's kind of what that's leaning towards. It's effective and has a good weedless option. Second, how much space does that big, heavy hook leave for the plastic to have that subtle shimmy? Not much. IMO, most of the time using a smaller hook and a lighter weight will solve most snagging problems, and if you need more than that, choose a different presentation.
  17. I'll 14th or whatever it's at the patriots also..
  18. The real question is not why does a bass bite a lure, but how can I get them to do it. Doesn't really matter why.
  19. Usually between 55 and 95 pounds. This one will be on the lower end of the spectrum.
  20. That's how I feel here in Indiana all to often... A limit of squeakers will get you in the top 5-15% in most tournaments here lol
  21. They're televised, but I don't think live. A couple months later I think, but I'm probably wrong. You can go to bassmaster.com and watch it live there, read the basstrak weight estimates throughout the day, and your team is automatically updated with the poi ts and standings at the end of each tournament day.
  22. Not sure, haven't seen the main lake in a couple days. Last I saw on Saturday there wasn't anything to speak of with the exception of large areas around bubblers.
  23. Still got 3.5 inches of ice here
  24. Me to, but his jersey had the number 18 on it
  25. Slightly disrespectful, but nonetheless hilarious!
