  1. Sorry for digging back an old thread but... I'm back and I'm happy ;D I gotta go fishing..... Ahhh... University is sooo darn boring but rediculously busy....
  2. My experiance is based on Stocked Trout and will be vastly different when fishing for the smarter type... I use 2in Senko's (Also knockoffs) on Rainbows up to around 16in. Works well wacky rigged. Just cast where they are and let it sink. Works well when they just don't hit any spoons, spinners, or jerkbaits. Again, the stocker trout are pretty dumb.....
  3. YOu'll need a lot of them weights.... I fish from the bank only, and dropshotting in rocky terrain isn't all too fun....
  4. Hey great insight on those cranks Natural!!! Topic has already been bookmarked for future referance Do all these LC cranks have rattles?? Or is it only the moonsault series?? I personally am looking around for silent types. Those ultra noisy moonsault cranks don't work in high pressure enviroments...
  5. Keep it on our terms!! ;D In Japan we frequently use Sammy 65s and 85s.... Sledom do we use 100s or 115s... so a 3.9in "Giant" Dog-X is in fact, still... Giant... In relative terms
  6. Hi. I live in Japan as Raul stated. The problem is, there is a huge shortage of B'Freeze (Pointer) and I have never seen a 100SP over here... If I'm lucky to find a couple of them in stores, there are usually only 2 colors hanging off the racks. I'm not sure which one, it's some kind of ghost black & blue?? All Japanese online shops are out of stock right now as well. I was just thinking of ordering from BPS a couple of Pointers as they are so hard to find. I'll keep an eye open for your colors though. I might be able to find a couple of Staysees. If you can get in contact with GInrinpeche I bet you'll be better off with him than me. GL!
  7. Fishingrulz - Interesting you point out the fish will be there and not spook, but won't use their mouth. I've had a lot of bass eat up 4in Grubs and French Fries right in front of me. In fact, when the fishing gets tough, I walk around the pond looking for Bass armed with a plastic worm on a weightless plastic presentation. I dangle it in front of the fish and they often take it. Though not certain, I am convinced they are in fact biting, and not just being aggressive and banging up the lure as many times the hook is buried deep in the mouth. Maybe I should get a couple of Mattlure's Bluegill swimbaits and see how the bass respond. Might be interesting.
  8. I'm using 100% Fluro which should be enough to keep the line stretch equation out. I really need to get bit more often to practice my hooksets... lol
  9. I think that explains why the Bass behave sooo differently..... Time to come up with new strategies!!! 8-)
  10. Is VMC a brand of hooks?? I never noticed the X-Raps used them
  11. Done. But I bet most of the members here are close to half the globe away ;D Special thanks to the internet
  12. OK Thanks!! I just found them today. Had to drive an hour through heavy traffic to get one. Hard to get them over here It looks nice and I was able to pick up a few Pointers as well so that justifies the headaches from driving in the hard rain. I just can't wait 'til spring!! ;D
  13. Do you guys change the hooks on the X-Raps?? I hear lots of people change the hooks on Rapalas as they aren't as sharp and rust easily. Is this the same for the hooks on the X-Rap? I am betting here that the newer X-Raps come with a better quality hook....
  14. Ok. Gotcha thanks. I'll be practicing my Jigs a lot next year though. Hope I'll get better at this 8-)
  15. Kinda OT but... I have one of those as well. It has a bad reputation here in Japan. Not many are having success with it ;D Many report the bass spooking. Maybe the sound is too loud..
