  1. For anyone looking for a bow mount transducer and fish finder, I have the solution. The Sully Portable Transducer Mount (Cabelas, $ 43.99). It's actually designed for pontoons but it fits perfectly on the front of the Bass Raider. My biggest hesitation in mounting anything was stripping out a mount in the plastic and this resolved that concern since it's all one piece. I had to make a couple modifications. First, I cut a small piece of poplar to use as a bumper in the clamp to make sure the arm doesn't press into the front lip of the boat. Then I cut another larger piece of poplar to use to mount my Humminbird. Both of those were sprayed with Flex Seal to keep them water tight. The mount is easy to put on and easy to pull off. The depth is easily adjustable. The aluminum is rust free. And best of all, it kept me from screwing into the plastic.
  2. Props to Harken Hoister for letting me use the empty space above my garage door to store my 10E up and outta the way. Comes with all of the hardware required to hoist this bad boy up and over the door. Installation was a piece of cake. I recommend this for anyone who needs to make room for storage!!!
  3. Okay Bass Raider owners... I'm a newb to the boat and will be picking one up in the next week or so. Can you please help me understand the best way to mount accessories to the body? It's a plastic boat and I'm afraid to strip out screws by just turning them into the plastic. Maybe it's thicker and more durable than I think it really is. I've heard rivets are great options, but I've seen the accessories that Tfultz100 has mounted on his boat (drink holders, oar clamps, electronic mounts, etc) and they look like they're all just screwed in? I don't understand how a rivet could fit into screw holes without it ending up a loose mount it the head isn't as big as the intended screw. What kinds of screws are being used? If you'd recommend rivets, can you let me know what to buy? I'm sorry for the lack of general knowledge. I just want to make sure I end up with sturdy accessories while avoiding turning my new toy into a Frankenstein mash up. Thanks all..,
  4. Okay all... I'm close to buying a Bass Raider. I'm looking at the Minn Kota Endura Max 55/36. The only question I have is bow mount versus stern mount. I see advantages of each. It seems that the overwhelming majority of this thread prefers a bow mount with rudder over a stern mount. Can you share any specific experiences on why one is better than the other? Sure I can move it once it's on, but I'd rather mount it plus my Humminbird in the right location. Your experiences will help me make that decision. Thanks all!!!!
