  1. Hows it goin! I'll be coming up to Minnesota from Maryland this summer for an internship. I'm going to be situated in Winona, and was just wondering what the fishing is generally like on the Mississippi and little lakes. I'm mostly a bass fisherman but after reading through this forum a bit I see that a lot of the focus is on Walleye? Is the bass fishing still reasonable? Any general things I should know about Minnesota's fishing?
  2. Trying to finally get my boat out on the Potomac soon. Any tips for the upper potomac around Brunswick or Point of Rocks? How should I figure out the depths and structure of the river? Cant really find much on the topography of it. Any tips on the upper potomac and fishing it would be great.
  3. currently on the any fish stage HAHA
  4. About to be back in Frederick for winter break! Itching to get out and make some casts. Im guessing a jerk bait would be bait of choice at the moment?! Also guessing the fishing has slowed down tons. Never really tried winter fishing but I am dying to get out there after being cramped in a dorm room. Let me know how the fishing has been.
  5. Whatsup guys! It's been a while. Just about to end my first semester at UMD. Made a few treks to Artemesia and pulled out a few in early fall. Other than that haven't had much time. Seeing if we can't get a fishing club up and running! Might do a little pond hopping this evening.
  6. Booyah pad crasher
  7. Nothing better than fishing for half an hour and being rewarded with that huge jump out out the mats for a frog! Missed a few good ones in the slop though.
  8. Found this in one of my textbooks I think. Just about sums it up for me. I enjoy my own company sometimes, and can take along a friend at other times. Looking into the water knowing something is in there and figuring out how to bring it out. It's like a constant puzzle.
  9. Here are pics of it on the bow. Yes it is backwards in this picture but I unscrewed and spun the head of the trolling motor so it was facing the correct way when I took it out. That is just about where it was on the boat.
  10. It is hand controlled. And it's like the boat itself won't respond to the actual direction I am trying to steer it. Or I'll turn slightly and it will magnify the turn 100x and I end up spinning in circles
  11. I recently got my first boat! A 14 ft aluminum Jon boat with a v- hull! When I try to mount the trolling motor on the front, I have to put it a little off to the right side of the front of the boat. When I do that the steering seems to go all out of whack. But it works perfectly fine when I put it on the back of the boat. Any reasoning for this? Any troubleshooting. I feel like it's because the water is being pushed right into the side of the boat or something, does the motor just need to be straight on? Or further below the boat?
  12. Going to head out to Little Seneca tomorrow morning! Taking out my new boat for the first time with a buddy of mine. Wish me luck! Any idea what they might be up to?
  13. The Potomac and Monocacy have me puzzled. Spent 4 hours near Buckeystown on the monocacy and caught one 5 inch smallmouth.
  14. any ideas where i could find a topographical map of Little Seneca lake?
