  1. Went to Mill Pond for a couple hours on Friday. Like an idiot I forgot my bag that had all of my tackle in it...so I was limited to a couple of jerkbaits that I had in my car. Slow down with a couple of dink perch, but it felt good to be out and get more practice on the baitcaster. Next time out I'll be able to put together a better effort.
  2. Thanks for the great info guys, I'll be sure to report back! I don't have the best info on that area, but my parents have a camp in Windsor on White Pond. My dad was up there Saturday night and said that they edges were still iced up and there was probably 3 inches of ice or so. That being said with the temps the past couple days, the continued warm temps and rain tomorrow, I can imagine everything around there should open up very quickly.
  3. Lucky enough to have every other Friday off, so with the warm weather this week I think I'll get the maiden voyage in Friday. Somewhere in the Nashua area, most likely the river near Stellos or Mill Pond. I've never really fished bass at ice out, I've heard jerkbaits and jigs usually do well. I've never really spent time with jerkbaits so this should be a good opportunity to start to expand the skillset. Any advice when the water is this cold, other than slow down, then slow down some more?
  4. I just got finished reading through this whole thread, as always great info Nev, appreciate it. Looks like we fish a lot of the same water. Just got back into fishing a couple of years ago so I'm still learning a ton. I plan on spending a good amount of time on the Nashua river trying to learn it. My girlfriend got me an inflatable boat last year, I built up a floor for it and picked up a trolling motor this fall, just need to go through the PITA process of tracking down the bill of sale so I can register it. As far as open water goes, I stopped by the Tinker Rd bridge the other day to learn how to use my new baitcaster. It's starting to open up nicely, warm temps next week should open up a lot of areas.
  5. I drove around a few areas in Nashua yesterday. A few smaller bodies of water like Sandy pond were over 1/2 open, the edges were starting to open up pretty much everywhere. The boat launch behind Stellos on the Nashua river has a decent amount of ice still but the dam is wide open so it would be tough to put a kayak in right now anyways. After a few days in the 50's this week I can imagine some of the smaller ponds should be at least close to fully iced out.
  6. I went out there at the end of November and had the same problem. It's about an hour drive for me so it sucks having to roll the dice on whether or not they are pulling water that day.
