I have been fishing for as long as I can remember but mostly as a pastime.  Over the past few years I have come to enjoy it more and more, and I would say that now it's becoming more of a passion than a pastime.  My "home lake" is Spring Hill City Lake, it's not a great place to fish but there are some big ones in there, I play most of my golf on the adjacent links so it's a convenient place for me to fish.  My favorite place to fish is the Niangua River(not during booze cruise season), I love current, smallmouth bass, beer cans, and clear water, the Niangua has an abundance of all four.  </span>

  1. Got out on the Niangua last week. We had a great trip, floated 17 miles over two days and saw only one other human being on the river. We had some slow stretches but we were into fish for most of the trip. Biggest fish was 2.26, most of what we caught were between 1 and 2lbs. Smallmouth made up 95% of what we caught, spots and trout made up the other 5%. I would estimate that the four of us caught about 150 fish. Water temp was between 52 and 55, clear as always. Most fish were caught on jerkbaits, the ned rig fooled some fish too.
  2. Hello all, I am Bassresource newbie and came here in search of exactly what this thread delivers. A bunch of fishermen talking about fishing around the area in which I live. What a great thread! So great that I felt compelled to join. My two cents probably won't be worth a penny on this thread but I will try to chime in from time to time.
