5 minutes into my fishing trip i had a big leaf on my square bill crankbait sexy shad color i was getting mad due to all the dead vegatation i kept snagging up and so i reeled in faster to bring my crank bait to me to take the leaf off then BOOM a 8 pound largemouth so big just took it and ran so fast i didnt have time to set the hook he set the hook himself!!!! the bass were feeding on bluegill and small baitfish at around 3-6 ft so i thought a sexy shad color would be great for shallow diving and imitate a bluegill/shad then i reeled em in thing kept flopping in the water it took me a minute to get ahold of him, i layed him down on the grass (i wet my hands) and removed the hook there was 1 more hook in its lip so i dip em into the water for a 5 seconds then move him to a less steeper area where i can crouch down and unhook em i unhooked him with his body in the water and i took a few selfies with him and let him go he swimmed off him self at a normal speed and 5 seconds after he is swimming off he turned side ways and swam off again in a normal way, do you think the fish died? because if it did im probaly going to be ticked off for letting a 8 pound bass or so die, havent fished in a very long time maybe less then 5 times this year and this is my first bass of the year, so... and also the pond is about 3 acres no one ever fish's there either do you think theres more bass that big? all i could see is when ever i walked the shoreline i could see a a swarm of little fish just run off so im guessing the fish have spanwed here in memphis

hey guys im going to bass pro shops soon. ive used spinning reel all my life and looking for a baitcaster for bass for under 150$ can i get a new rod and reel suggestion? also im going to buy the bass pro shops speed shad. what type of hook do i need for that? where to buy it? also does any one have any favorite type of lure like some people like a zoom fluke for example. any cool lures i should get? i wanna spend around 15$ on tackle and buy a new rod and reel. thanks edit needs to be an all purpose bass rod so im thinking 7 ft and 7 to 1 gear ratio.

hey guys, im truly sorry for the post that i made. ill admit that i made it. im sorry it was a weird way of me trying to get a laugh i didnt even know that picture was real. sorry guys.... i am curious if any one wants to do a memphis tn fishing trip if you own a boat. drop shotting seems to be hard when shore fishing. atleast for me. ive got a honey hole where i can gaurentee your new pb sits at. its a natural made decent sized lake that has blue,channel,yellow bullhead, white bass, crappie, largemouth, blue gill and other species. , it is rarley fished ive fished there for over 10 years and i uncommonly see people fish it its only fished by 4 guys i know and they all catch and release my friend caught a 14.5 pound lmb and i caught my pb of 8 pounds there. since its natural its kind of shallow maybe the deepest point of 10 ft it has a huge deep area though of maybe 15 feet that has a fallen down oak tree and houses a bunch of lunker bass. if any one has a boat and wants to do some bass fishing im up. since the bass dont seem to have completely moved shallow yet i wanna fish some 4-6 foot areas . i wanna fish a drop shot and maybe even a swim jig jerkbait or a dark pure blood red crawfish, since thats there colors here. thanks

hey guys i have a friend in memphis tn who owns a private 20 acre lake and everything he put smallies and some peacock bass in there years ago he got em in big ice coolers with pumps and all and put 25 peacocks and 25 smallies in grove i just fished there today there big and small ones there even 7-9 pound peacock and a 9 pound or so smallie. big fish put there. he said he always fished the grove and decided to put some peacocks and smallies in grove. i caught a 4 pounder peacock and no smallies only a 3 pound largemouth. good luck! please catch and release me and put photos if you catch any btw good luck getting the 19 pound peacock!

ok i see it on google earth. how ever i see like 5 ponds bunched up together. can you upload a screenshot and circle in red which pond is the best has the big ones etc?

10.4? some one ate a 10.4 pound bass? that must of tasted like rotten ass. that bass was probaly 10+ years old. the only fish i ever used to keep was if there was lots of dinks i'd used to keep 2-4 for a fry anyways thanks ill see if i can head to the grove. ill be bank fishing any idea where is the best place to bass fish there? and where is the grove? thanks

i read the memphis pond hoppers thread and didnt get much out of it most people there seem to be trying out ponds and giving reviews about them... well i can gaurentee you i catch and release anything i catch. i used to eat my catch until i found a worm in my bass fillet. anyways i catch and release and about to head up to a fishing trip in a few days and im wondering wheres good for collierville,germantown area. dont wanna drive more then 20 minutes really. dont give me a dink playhouse pond or a kids bream pond please. lol just looking for a pond that holds decent sized bass prefer maybe 2+ ponds or lakes. im wondering what lure to use there ive got 14 lb mono on a 6'6 rod with a shimano 4000fg reel. if any one can hook me up with some ponds or something would be great. if you dont wanna give every one your ponds adress you can just pm me or something but i can gaurentee you i release every fish aslong as its not ill diseased has a lamprey or anything on it that would damage the pond and spred parasites to other fish. i know a nice lake with 5+ pound bass there you catch em every minute and im the only one who fishes there. but it has a no fishing sign on it now... thanks

im a catch and release guy dont worry. im wondering where is a decent fishing area not to far from germantown tn. im into bass and catfish. wheres a good place that holds decent sized bass and catfish? im trying to break my pb bass of 8 pounds and catch a few decent sized catfish. im not into huge catfish just anything around 1-15 pounds is fine for me. what baits and lures to use there? i tried herb parsons sunday didnt get a bite out of any bass but i lost a red lipless crank bait on a tree and caught a small 12 inch catfish. was gonna let it go but i gut hooked it good and it wouldent swim away so i kept it. and what area is the best to fish at herb parsons for bass and catfish? i fished near the small bridge near the boat dock... any one would like to also probaly share any honey holes? lol

any one? need to know what lures i need to go shopping for in about an hour... thanks!

ok i hope so. i dont want to drive 30 minutes and fish a lake with no fish and ruin a families day.
