All I have at the moment are a ton of KVD 1.5s/2.5s & a couple 5XDs, which aren't bad but every bass has seen them before. Just looking for something atitle different that's high quality

Hmm, that's interesting. The Cloud 9 C25 comes in a silent version and a regular on their website.

So this spring/summer I'm looking to expand my crankbait arsenal dramatically. I'm looking at 6th Sense Fishing, and see they have two different lines and I'm not sure of the difference. They have the Crush line (250MD, 300DD, 500DD) and the Cloud 9 line (C6, C10, C20, etc.). Does anyone know specifically what the difference is?

I got a few on a "monkey butt" plopper tonight as well

Fishing Patoka all day today. So far incredibly slow, no fish. Started early with a buzzbait. Sun got higher and tried a brush hog, spinnerbait, chatterbait, paddletail, jig & craw. Mostly foshed coves/backs of creeks. Water is fairly stained and high, so beds are hard to see. Bluebird skies. Supposed to start getting a little cloudier around 5, hopefully that will help.

Has anyone gotten on a topwater bite yet? I'm putting in a last minute T. WH order before I head to Patoka this Friday I don't think I'll need any topwaters this early, but you never know

@CroakHunter thanks. If the weather forecast remains good for this coming Friday (05/11) we'll be going that day. I'm guessing some should be on beds

My Patoka trip keeps getting postponed due to crapy weather, etc. Will the bass likely be moving back out deep by late may, or still up shallow?

Hit 5 different spots today, stone quarry two rivers, and two ponds. Not a single bite and I threw everything but the kitchen sink. I did catch my personal best a few weeks ago, which I am very happy about, but overall this year has been an incredibly slow year for me so far.

Hit a private stone quarry today around 5:00p, crazy wind but good was a good day. I get bored fishing Yum Dingers & like to learn new techniques, so I kinda stopped using them for awhile. The bite was slower than I expected today so I popped a yum dinger on (the bigger ones) and landed my personal best on the 2nd cast! 6lb 12oz. Big prespawn fatty filled with eggs.

Thanks @fishnkamp! That was a great article that clears a lot of things up. The motor on his particular boat is Mariner 115 (I think made by Mercury). If everything checks out, I just may take it home! Hoping he decides to sell it

Hey guys, I've been fishing out of a kayak for too long and have an opportunity to purchase a 1994 Ranger Sport R70 with a 115hp Mercury Mariner. The boat is owned by my wife's great uncle (who I haven't met yet). He is original owner and supposedly kept it in mint condition (will know more when I go see it). He is "thinking" about selling it, so I don't know how much he wants. If this boat is in great shape, what kind of price should I be looking at? Also, I've heard not to go with a 2 stroke, which I assume the 1994 mercury is. Are there any major problem with 2 strokes I should be concerned with, or even this motor in particular? I really appreciate all the help you guys can give. Kayak fishing frustrates me and would love to get into a real boat

Well my Sunday plans have (potentially) changed. My dad wants to try Summit Lake. I've been there once in fall and once in spring and got skunked both times. Anyone have any suggestions? I need to eliminate a lot of water since its 800 acres and we're in kayaks.

Thanks, @CroakHunter. I'm going to Whitewater which is only about 200 acres. I've never got the timing right when trying to fish the prespawn/spawn. I was thinking the prespawn might just now barely be starting, but it sounds like they're well on their way headed to the shallows.

This Sunday looks like mid 50s, light wind. I'll probably head out in my kayak, first time getting off the bank this year. Are the bass on main lake points leading into spawning coves yet? Or are they still pretty deep?

Hey guys! Does anyone fish Patoka? I've heard that's a great lake for largmouth. My dad & I are hoping to rent a boat down there one day this spring. We're hoping to go mid prespawn and fish sub 15' (I understand some basic concepts, but dont have a lot of experience with fish finders). I would appreciate all the advise I can get! Thanks

I know what you mean, but I like to kill as many birds with one stone as I can. What would be a good jerkbait rod, and what other techniques would be suitable along with jerkbaits on the same rod?

Hey guys So I have an opportunity to buy 2 rods at a nicely discounted price through my job, Abu Garcia Veritas & St Croix Avid. The 1st rod I'm looking for to handle Squarebills, mid depth cranks, and heavy Suspending jerkbait (Crush 75x, 250MD, Pointer 100XD). The second rod I want exclusively for deep diving cranks (6th Sense 500DD, maybe 10XD). Here's what my thinking is, Id appreciate your thoughts. Rod #1: St. Croix Avid X (7' MH/M) -Squarebills (6th Sense Crush Flat 75X) -Mid-depth (6th Sense Crush 250MD) -Suspending jerkbaits (LC Pointer 100XD) Rod #2: Abu Garcia Veritas (7'11 XH/M) -6th Sense 500DD -Strike King 10XD Are these decent rods for those applications? I'd really like to know what you all think! Thanks : )

Good choice, Midwest Fisherman. Wilderness Systems makes a great kayak. I have their Tarpon 120 Angler. I fish at Westwood & Whitewater (N of Brookville Lake). Both small waters good for kayaking. Westwood is dink city, but you can catch a lot of small bass. I'm thinking of kayaking Whitewater on Monday...Will it be packed being that it's memorial day? Maybe I should wait until Tuesday, although the wind is supposed to be 15mph, which is killer in a kayak.

Nice! I have a Mattlures Ultimate Bluegill I'm trying tomorrow. The gills are spawning on top of the ledges in the stone quarry I fish & the bass are ambushing them just off the ledge. Glad to see you got hooked with it! Im not confident with full size swimbaits at all.
