  1. Ever since MMA(ufc) got big, I can't watch boxing for more then a few rounds. It just gets boring. Its like a pro fisherman who only knows one technique, with one lure. Put either of these two in an MMA cage with even a average fighter, and they will likely be stopped within the first round.
  2. Oh Andy, yeah we're good pals...he said to send it my way instead. Something about havin too many rods as it is... Congrats man, hope it aids ya in a future PB
  3. Ah I remember when I was thinking of a new rod...that quickly escalated and now I have 3 more;) You could check out the tourney special trigger rod at basspro. I got one last season for an all around rod and its great. I was surprised cause its pretty cheap ($30 sale now). I caught more fish on that rod then on my higher end rods, ranging up to a 5.5lber. It held up great and is still in my arsenal. A 6'6" medium should do you fine.
  4. IR guns are not accurate on reflective surfaces as stated above thus it would pass though water giving poor results. It only works in cooking because a pot of water is very shallow, and its reading the temp at the bottom/sides of the pot.It needs a surface to bounce off, and shouldn't really be used more the a foot or two from the the object being tested(closer=accuracy). The lazer dosent actually do anything other then show you where you are aiming the gun. I use them for auto repair, for the price of one worth buying you can buy lots of fishing gear. I stick with the cheap pool thermometer for fishing.
  5. They have the magic ability to snap off with ease when snagged:)
  6. Just tweak the lyrics a little lol "Bass fishermen Always on the run Destiny is the rising sun Oh I was born baitcaster in my hand Behind a rod I'll make my final stand That's why they call me..."
  7. Match the hatch lol I use the same colors as the baitfish in whatever water I'm fishing. Mostly bluegills around here so those colors always produce.
  8. It's one of the main reasons I work so much hahaha. Its a running joke at work with my managers to get all the overtime out of me they can now, they know once spring rolls around I won't take a minute over 40hrs
  9. This thread, and all of it responses hahaha
  10. I saw it once, I was on a dock about 10 feet above the waters edge. It was about 3ft of water with a steep drop off about 4ft out. There was a school of bluegill In the shallows. I sat and watched as bass after bass would fly up out of the deep grab a gill and return to the darkness in the blink of an eye. The the bluegill didn't know what to do so they ultamitly just stayed there getting picked off. I was on a hike so of course had no gear with me. The bass were all in the 3-5lb range.
  11. Line of reeds could be a good start..I would start with a buzzbait(or frog) depending on the thinkness. Then try spinnerbaits, from there I would try a jig/trailer or creature bait with pegged bullet weight. I don't know the water clarity there but I prefer dark colors.
  12. So how many of you guys are gonna buy this rod regardless, and tell your significant others you won it free? Hahaha ...this reaks of the baitmonkeys tactics
  13. You may get a few looks no biggie. Just imagine explaining how you caught a limit in under a minute hahaha
  14. If I feel the fish is hooked well, I will play it alittle longer to tire the fish out some. Then use judgement on the location(risk) of the lure...then decide if it's safe to lip, if not I use my boga.
  15. Nope I only really fish here in Jersey. The NJ state record is 10.14lbs, and its been standing for 35 years. If I ever do manage to luck out and get a DD I will have either come close or surpassed it, so my hopes are not to high.
  16. I couldn't be more happy with the set up, it's everything I was hoping for.
  17. So a few hrs later I'm home to my presents haha.
  18. Nothing worse then seeing this, And being stuck at work....only 2 hrs 31mins left.
  19. I use red nail polish to freshen up lures/hooks that get woren out over time. I was worried about the smell, but after trial and error see no difference in fish ratios.
  20. Good question, I have never counted. I will try to this season. I do know that it's as many as physically and mentally possible due to other non-important(work) obligations that get in the way.
  21. Spinnerbaits are my confidence bait, there are tons of techniques you can use with them besides throwing them out and reeling em in. I would say 75% of all my fish are caught on them, view my gallery...all fish were on spinners. They seem to help seek out more quality fish and less dinks for me. Profile pic also on a spinner
  22. Welcome, I remember watching an episode of Lunkerville not to long ago, he caught a nice 5lber in central park. So nice fish do exist there too hahaha
