  1. Couple bags of senkos, few packs of 3/0 wide gap worm hooks, and a handfull of spinnerbaits..also a buzzbait or two. Should give you great results at any pond.
  2. The only thing I would do is put one of the faster reels(6.4:1,7.3:1) on the rod you use for jerkbaits so you can take the slack line up faster between twitches. Other then that your set ups look fine to me, I don't ever use different rods for jerks/cranks, I just make sure I use a parabolic rod for things with trebles. Then again, that style of fishing isn't my strong suit.
  3. Yes please buy an auger, or simply don't ice fish. Your current methods seem very unsafe. Take it from someone one fell though the ice once(non-fishing related). The ice around here has been questionable at best, strong in some spots weak in others. One hit with a pick axe in the wrong spot and you may be meeting the bass face to face.
  4. Nice fish from the sounds of it, nothing better then that first pull of the season, be it a dink or lunker.
  5. Ah, living in this void of NJ/NY/PA It's true the bass get better north, south and west of us haha
  6. I personally have won a few million...wait fishing video games count, right?
  7. So if that's the weights they were back in 2012, just think what they weigh now. That is pretty cool to know though, and a lengthy time to wait for results.
  8. Today its going to snow, tomorrow is gonna be 50 degrees, then Thursday snow again. I'm hoping late March /early April the waters will be fishable. I remember two years ago catching bass in late January. No matter how long it is, its gonna seem like forever.
  9. I gotta a super rare, bone colored spook that I have caught countless bass on (stripers too), I will sell it for a one time offer of $80. You may never find a deal this good again, snag it before it's gone haha
  10. Let's beat the system, everyone guess the same weight so we are all in the drawing hahaha....but seriously the fish is clearly 2 lbs 3 Oz any bassmaster should know that.
  11. Going to sleep early each night, and waking up late each morning will bring spring here just a little faster:) 19 days to go
  12. Hahaha no he does not. He's the man, the myth, the legend. A perfect circle is his only band to allude me so far. They put out a live DVD a couple years back, its on YouTube just search stone and echo if you haven't seen it yet. I watched it about 1000 times. If your coworker is for real, im coming along just sayin haha. My coworkers haven't even heard of Tool.
  13. What Really Matters In Life
  14. Kyuss had disbanded but started touring under the name "Kyuss lives" minus Josh Homme. Sometime after I saw the show Homme filed a lawsuit and sued the band for using the name. That was the last tour, they now have basically dissolved. Next time Puscifer is on tour see them...you will not be disappointed.
  15. My last concerts of the last few years, Tool - known for unbelievable shows, with amazing lighting...hands down best show I've ever been to. I can't wait for more to come around. Puscifer - saw them twice a few months apart...its a side project of the front man from Tool. Again great show but in smaller concert halls and different type of crowd. Kyuss - NYC, front row...amazing Alice in chains - awesome show lucked out and got front row, unfortunately the greats of the band are no longer alive.
  16. Don't know if this was a good deed or not. I rented a row boat on a near by lake and went out fishing for the day. The wind was strong that day and pushing everyone on rowboats to the far end of the lake. At the end of the day I return to the dock. There was a mother taking her 5 kids out, but they were having trouble controlling the boat and couldn't get out of the dock. The mother calls over to me asking for help, I jump on the boat and show them what to do and back them out. I then hop outta the boat and back onto the dock when I over hear one of the kids say "can he come with us mom". It left me wondering if I did a good thing or not, cause if they couldn't manage the dock there no way they were gonna control it out on the water with that wind. Hahaha
  17. Two summers ago I was out on a kayak that I had at the time. I was on a lake that has a feeder stream that is about 5' wide and very deep. There was a thunderstorm the day prior so the water was raging. I...like a dummy decided I was gonna go upstream to where it opened up to a pond where the bigger fish are. About half way up the current pushed me to one of the sides, in the second I hit the branches sticking into the water a giant deer stood up (was sleeping in the bush) and takes off running scaring the c**p out of me. I turned the kayak away and didn't realize a branch had hooked onto one of my rods in the rod holder. As I turned it picked it up and out. I hear it splash in the water and as I turn to look, it shot of into the dark current never to be seen again. Luckily it was not one of my more expensive combos...was about $80 though.
  18. Just picked up this abu reel($100) for my plastics/drop shot. Reel is perfect size and very nice quality, super smooth. Paired it with a 6'9" medium/light rod, and so far the setup is the bees knees. ---- That is a company we have had issues with and the website is blocked -Kent
  19. Eric the car guy Edbassmaster, and a few of the other prank channels Motor trend channel... specifically roadkill
  20. Really nice fish, now if you'll excuse me I gotta go back to reminiscing about past seasons.
  21. It gets you on the water, it gets you fish. Doesn't need to be fancy. I know I've caught bass on some sketchy boats that probably werent even sea worthy hahaha
  22. Your best bet would be to try and find jetties or pier to fish off, your 7' and 9' rod would be fine...the problem is the reels, I wouldn't want saltwater on them as it will corrode them more so the low profile reels. You could use your spinning reel then wash/clean it afterwards. I would also ditch the line after the trip is over. Or just find some ponds and go bassin lol
  23. In some places, they look down on boaters, and non boaters alike
  24. Same sport to me...fighting, which has evolved with time, credit is due where skill has been learned. Putting a MMA fighter in a boxing match is just putting a big handicap on him/her. Putting a boxer in a MMA cage is just showing who has really learned the art/skill of fighting. Unfortunately even MMA ratings have gone down with what seems to be a recent lack of compatable fighters, and then a rash of fighters getting caught using PED's.
  25. I sold my kayak, and got a jon boat which I love when on bigger lakes with easy access. Now I'm thinking of getting a kayak again, but getting the lightest one I can. So I can take it where ever I want, hiking if I have to. With only one rod, and a plano box with mixed lures It would be like finesse kayaking hahaha
