  1. I only tell your friends where the ponds are that you know suck
  2. Yeah it was too good of a deal to pass up at that price, plus it includes a paddle. But like I said, it only has to acommplish what i want it for. Its gonna be for hard to reach waters. Stability and speed weren't really of concern. I doubt I would be able to stand up in it. For everything else I have my jon boat.
  3. Will do, they also had $20 off a $100+ purchase so it was cheap.
  4. Just keep doing what your doing, thats the best contribution. This is an online community for bass fishing, if every post was strictly facts there would be very limited posts...and that would get boring.
  5. Went to dicks looking for a small, light kayak that I could hike with and take to more out of the way ponds...I found this on my phone as I was walking around the store. They didn't have it in stock so I ordered it to the store, just waiting for them to get it now. 8.5ft (should fit inside my car) 40lbs
  6. oh they steal money for sure, then just stock some waters to make it look like they are doing something with all the money they are collecting. I have nothing wrong with fisherman taking their limit of fish...but the rangers can't always be around, people abuse it and take what they please when they please. Remember this pond is only 3-4 acres...the smallest bass I ever caught there was just above 2.5lbs. Since it's such small waters I think the bass do there own culling.
  7. Unfortunately what passes for a big fish here in NJ is 5+ lbs. I've heard people talk about a "hawg" that in reality barely weights 3lbs, followed by "if I catch that thing, it's going on my wall". The white bucket fisherman here take everything they can get. I am definitely gonna try a swimbait in there to see what it can do...that is if anything is left.
  8. It's really all just a big waste of time and money. They stock these select waters every year. When it opens to fishing literally hundreds of fisherman who don't fish the rest of the year, but decide they wanna play sportsmen for the day stand side by side and drain it of all the trout. Then when people who have a passion for fishing go there they are outta luck, it doesn't take much to ruin a small body of water. My fear is that they will also take the bass, and that's the end of that pond..it's only about 3-4 acres in size. one species of fish gets the entire body of water closed, how does that make sense.
  9. Yes, that was my initial thought as well. So I took a walk around the pond, and came across a half ripped up paper stapled to a post on the other side from which I had parked. It was from the NJ fish and wildlife, saying "Trout stocked waters" and "No Fishing" from early March to about mid April. .I forget the dates specifically.
  10. So I drove about 40 mintues today to go to one of my favorite spots. Upon arrival I get out, and start setting up my gear beside my car. A car pulls up next to me and the gentalmen informs me I can't fish here, that the game warden has been kicking people out because they stocked it with trout due to an issue at a near by location where they normally do. This pond has some very good size bass in it, it's where I got my first 5+lber. As far as I know there is no season on lmb, and I have purchased my freshwater fishing license for what? Im still not allowed to fish. How is it fair that they just come in and claim waters that have normally for the most part been over looked. I don't want anything to do with trout. Now I also fear the dawn of bucket fisherman will ruin this place before I ever get to fish it again. Sorry but after driving for an hour and a half for no reason I had to rant hahaha
  11. Congratulations When I got mine I think I drove around until nightfall "exploring". Most importantly stay safe.
  12. Love the show, watched hours of it lastnight. My favorite episode though is when he fished in Chernobyl. It was amazing seeing the abandoned building.
  13. 3 different types actually, braid on the jigs, fluoro on the jerks, the spinnerbait was on mono. I feel my hook sets were appropriate, the only line I'm not so confident in is the fluoro after the knot broke. But I have since learned a better knot for it so we will see. At the end of the day I'm more concerned with the fish swimming off healthy, I don't wanna risk damaging it's slime coat. But believe me I've been very tempted to drag em out lol.
  14. That's the way to start a season, nice job.
  15. Fallacies, that's why they test us on our 1/4 mile speeds, burn outs, and donuts Good luck, if your car has a center console parking brake make sure its set before the instructor gets in. Also keep in mind you don't have to get 100% to pass.
