  1. Just got my shipment friday. Excellent quality! Attention to detail must be important to you Siebert. Thanks a ton!
  2. 4" fluke prob in watermelon or green pumpkin. Easy to keep weed less and can fish it at any depth.
  3. Just my .02, but I'd throw a big creature bait Texas rigged on a 3/8oz swing head jig right into that timber. Work it real slow and you can usually feel it crawl over the wood. Great looking setup man.
  4. I really like a jitterbug reeled in slow and constant or a 3/8 single Colorado blade black spinnerbait slow rolled. Zero fish is tough, maybe you couldn't see the structure they were holding to?
  5. 4" creme scoundrel on size 1 offset work hook. Usually split shot rig.
  6. Anything with lead can be kept in a small Tupperware container then reused for lots of stuff.. Small mom&pop lure makers will use it or I've even given a bunch to cub scouts (they use the lead to weigh down their pine wood derby cars.
  7. My favorite finesse setup: Shimano stradic +CI4 3000 Fenwick aetos 7' medium Yozuri hybrid 8lb
  8. Shimano Sahara 2500 w/ fenwick HMG 6'6" med action 80$ for reel 90$ for rod. They are both on sale at TW.
  9. Thanks for doing these updates. Living in central kentucky for 10 years, I had some of my best memories creekin'. You could catch spots, large and smallmouth all w/in a mile of each other. This post really brings a smile to my face. Thanks again!
  10. It's called the law of diminishing returns. I really think after about 130-150$, you stop seeing where your money is going, ie. No more added bearings, nice handles, ect. Anything over that is really just charged bc thats what the Market says it's worth. Just my .02, and for the record, I own a CI4, and love it lol.
  11. Good on ya bro. Nice fish.
  12. 6 1/2 largemouth on 1/8 oz renosky super shad. It was when I was a kid and I still have that lure.
  13. Keitech fat swing impact shad color.
  14. This is a great question. When I think on it, I'm not really sure. I love being outside and just really enjoy the water. I'm definitely a fisher, and not a catcher, meaning that while I rarely skunk, I don't mind casting for hours on end even if the bite is slow. I've got some buddies that only like catching, not "fishing". I'm glad that I enjoy the process...
  15. "Shhhhh!" ?just kiddin'.
  16. Hi all, had a quick question and you'll have to forgive me if it's been gone over before but I could not find it in any searches. I have some spinnerbaits and jigs where the paint on the heads has totally come off from banging against Bridges and rocks and trees and such. I have a little time on my hands and I was going to repaint some of them. What kind of paint do you guys use to paint lures? I was thinking some of that testors model enamel paint, but any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Keep crossing those eyes!
  17. This just in....It ain't the arrow, it's the indian. That being said, fishing expensive jigs is like having expensive golf clubs, in the hands of a novice it really doesn't matter. That being said again I like expensive Jigs and I like expensive golf clubs lolz, pops always told me that you can at least LOOK 10 Strokes better than you are. ?
  18. I mostly fish from the bank and I agree with these post. I carry a lot of lures in my backpack. I also began to catch many more fish once I learned that I don't always have to fish midwater lures (spinnerbaits, crank baits, ect). The bottom of these small water ways hold many bass that are accessible with bottom bouncing baits. Tight lines bro.
  19. Sorry to hear about your friend. I love "gone fishin'" as long as his family was ok with it.
  20. If you can find them, the mann's manipulator had a body that was about 3" with a 3" long ribbon tail. Great worms that are hard to find anymore... Good luck man.
  21. Do you fish from a boat or are you a bank beater? I have different bags/boxes for each application.
  22. Jay, looks like you're doing just fine with the equipment you have. Nice spring fish man and AWESOME shirt! Big Blue is truly the greatest tradition in all of college basketball.
  23. I know it's a bit less than you want to spend, but I've been really happy with my daiwa Aird 7' casting rod. They are around 55$. They make a 6'6" rod too. Google the rod and check out reviews, I found a lot of positive feedback and agree with most of it. Good luck.
