  1. Thanks, my wife and I love this little camper. Just wish we had more free time to use it! Some of us guys from tacomaworld.com forum have planned a camping & fishing weekend at Gifford Pinchot State Park in York, Pa. weekend of April 22nd. Friday thru Sunday. Those guys have fishing kayaks. Should be fun if anybody here is interested.
  2. It's a 2014 Casita Spirit Deluxe 17ft'er. It has a wet bath with a standard size toilet and a shower. It sleeps 3 comfortably.
  3. I catch & release also.
  4. Thanks. You know i only paid $500 for my Tacoma. It was towed into my work with a dead motor due to a neglected oil leak. PO didn't want to make the repairs and was gonna sell it to Crazy Rays, a local pick-N-pull salvage yard. I bought it and installed a 69k mile motor that i had shipped to me from a Arizona salvage yard. After the motor install i upgraded the suspension with a 3" lift, new wheels/tires and larger front brakes from a Toyota tundra. I love this truck. I'm wrenching on a 4runner now.
  5. Lake Redman should be fun. I visited Codorus State Park last Saturday. Wife and I went hiking then checked out the overlook to see the eagle's nest. A lot of people were fishing there. Wife and I are planning a camping trip there soon. We already reserved a campsite at Gifford Pinchot State park for a extended weekend in April. I'm gonna shoehorn my Pelican in the back of my Tacoma somehow while towing my camper lol. PA has a lot to offer when it comes to camping & fishing, we love it up there.
  6. I have yet another question. I've read many pages here but haven't seen this mentioned. I have my 10e stored in my 1 car garage on top of my 4x4 atv's. I want to store it hanging from the cross beams of my steel carport above my pick up. Anybody here store their boat by hanging it? And if so how? Thanks.
  7. I have no expeirence personally with these trailers but i've seen pics of them online used for transporting boats like ours. From what i've seen & read they seem to work good for these boats. One guy used a piece of plywood covered in indoor/outdoor carpeting as his deck for the trailer. He had eyelets bolted to each corner for securing the boat with ratchet straps. If i remember correctly he mentioned he had like only $300 invested into this trailer. It looked nice and fit the boat well. Take the time and read/search this thread. There is info here about "plastic welding" to fix holes/cracks.
  8. Thanks for the pic. I'm gonna hook up my trailer and measure to see how much clearance i have.
  9. What size bed on your truck? my truck is a tacoma with the 6ft bed. This is a pic of my truck & camper. If possible post a pic of your set up, thanks. I'm planning on hooking my truck up to my camper to help determine the best method of transporting my boat while towing.
  10. I've been reading online about PVC racks cracking at the joints causing the rack to fail. I couldn't live with myself if i caused a accident because my Pelican became airborne while driving down the highway. Now i'm looking to spend $300 on an aluminum TracRac from my local Home Depot. Anybody here use one of these to haul their boat?
  11. It's a fairly new camper, i don't want to modify the tongue or frame. I'm sure that would void my warranty. I just found pics online of homemade PVC boat /kayak racks online that's made to fit in the bed of a truck. This is one.
  12. Anybody here build a rack out of PVC that fits in the bed of a pick up for transporting your Pelican? I tow a camper with my tacoma and i want to take my Pelican with me on camping trips but with the overhang of the 10ft boat in my 6ft bed it will interfere with my camper while towing. I'm thinking of building a PVC rack that i can set in the bed then set my boat on top and secure it all with ratchet straps to the factory cargo hooks that's mounted in the bed. When i'm not using the boat i can simply lift the rack out of the bed of my truck and store it in my garage with the boat. I don't want a bolt on metal type rack, i never liked the looks of those. I want something that's easily removable when i'm not transporting my boat.
  13. Certificate of Origin should be in the owner's manual, at least mine was.
  14. My uncle gave me this working but old TM yesterday. It's actually in good condition for its age. I Googled the model number but i couldn't find any info on it. Anybody know about this TM or where i can find some info online? Should i still buy a new Minn kota?
  15. John like i mentioned the Dick's where i bought my 10e has one in stock,(at least 2 weeks ago when i was there last they did, i saw it). It's about a 20 min. drive from my house if you like i could drive up there for you just to check that it's still there. When i called this store about purchasing mine the girl told me they showed one on their computer and took my # because she wanted to go out to the storage container and visually check that they did in fact have one in stock. She quickly called me back to inform me that they did have it in stock, i thought that was cool. I drove right up & bought it. When i was there a couple weeks ago they had one that just came in up on the shelf with a small Sundolphin. If i can assist in any way to help get you & this lil boat united just let me know.
  16. Dicks in Bel Air has one in stock. I saw it on the shelf 2 weeks ago. $599 if you take a pic of Academy's online ad, they price matched it for me after i purchased mine. $699 regular price. I dealt with a manager named Kevin. Pics of the dolly i made. Built it out of a old trailer dolly, PVC pipe, SS hardware and zip ties. I wrapped the PVC with foam to help protect the bottom.
  17. We still planning a day at Lake Redman?
  18. Yea I still have to register it. I have the sales receipt & certificate of origin, think that's all i'm gonna need for registration. I still have to purchase a TM and fab myself a rudder. I plan to mount some rod holders to my cooler. The tabletop is a USA made poly plastic cutting board. It's stain & crack resistant. Your right, table would be a good place for my fish finder. I'm trying to avoid having to drill holes into the boat itself but i see that a lot of people do it without any issues.
  19. I'm gonna buy some padding to install around the PVC to further protect the underside of my Pelican. How do you like my bait/utility table? Probably only gonna use it on solo fishing trips. I plan to mount a little RV type plastic drawer under the table.
  20. I built myself a dolly today to haul my Pelican from the campsites to the lake. Wish i could post a pic here!
  21. John they have one that just arrived sitting on the shelf. Dick's in Bel Air off of rt. 24, not far from I-95 I saw it there on the shelf this afternoon. They also had a Sundolphin sitting up on the shelf next to the Pelican 10e. Take a pic of Academy's ad and take it with you for a $100 savings like i did today. You should join the fishing meet were planning.
  22. I just went to my local Dick's Sporting store where i recently purchased my Pelican for $699 with a pic on my phone of Academy's $599 advertised price of the same Pelican 10e. They refunded me the price difference. I'm a happy camper!
  23. Sounds good to me! My wife and I hike there with our 2 dogs. Beautiful lake and park, and its right off of I-83 so its easy to find. I heard the fishing is good, I never fished there personally. Hopefully some more members chime in then we can agree on a day. I'm available any Sat or Sun.
