  1. only time i fish praire lea is when i have access to a boat. other than that its usually local ponds in LS or lone jack. But i would highly suggest going to james a reed and throwing a hollow body frog. There are some monstrous fish out there. I mainly do well at jack rabbit, cottontail, gopher, and bodark. tanglewood isnt bad either
  2. i went out to James A. Reed over the weekend and fished with jigs, plastic craws, rattle traps, jerkbaits and didn't get a bite on any of them. Only way i was able to get a bite was with a 5 inch BP xps swimbait. anyone? and feel free to suggest your favorite late winter/early spring lures.
  3. i swear the only time i lose frogs is right after i buy them and want to use them, so i go fishing with it and watch it fly off my line when i backlash it and the knot slips
  4. i am new to jerkbait fishing and am more or less lost when it comes to fishing them. Any advice on brands, rods, gear ratio, technique, and what time of year to use them?
  5. I have spros, snag proofs, the new live target hollow sunfish(have not been able to use yet), and booyah pad crasher. I believe the booyah pad crasher is the best because its cheap, and extremely soft compared the others i have. If you're first getting started with frog fishing get a heavy action rod, fast gear ratio, 65lb braid, a white frog, and a black frog. those two colors pretty much cover everything
  6. I've had just the opposite experiences as you guys on praire lea. Most of the time i am ou there, which isnt a lot because i dont have a boat, the people i am with have caught multiple bass 3 pounds and up
  7. anyone here fish Praire lea lake in Lees summit?
  8. been searching for a while and found a Lamiglas x-11, thoughts on that brand?
  9. Caught in a private pond in kansas on a 5" berkley havoc grass pig "bama bug" color with a 3/8 ounce SK squadron swimbait head
  10. I live about 20 minutes outside of kansas city on the missouri side and i have some local places that i do rather well at, however i would like to expand my fishing area and fish new places in the KC area. If you have any good streams, rivers, ponds, or lakes please let me know!!!
  11. 2-6oz swimbaits, i also have a couple of 5300 ambassadors i plan on using with them
  12. I am looking for a cheap swimbait rod, any suggestions, try to keep it under $200
