The brown is do-able. I'm on a mission to nail a swimbait brown, this spring. They come in shallow, near trib mouths to eat gobies, alewife, and I know I've filleted more than one with a 'bow in its gut. I've caught browns on tubes, crankbaits, rattletraps, drop shot worms, and flukes. No reason I can't add swimbait to that list. The bucket brigade is gonna think I'm nuts, though, LOL. Hey, sign me up. We still need to chrome.

Do you think I just went to YouTube and typed in "super awesome trophy bass fishing with hella cool trout swimbaits"? Nah, not my style. I offered that up as a better video demonstration of what big bait fishing can produce. Those bass in a "hawg tank" would eat a fast sinking turd most of the time. Take any type fish that has not been in that tank, dump it in there around feeding time and see what happens. Keep catching the biggest fish in your waters and I'll keep doing the same here. Welcome to the 1990s. Do you know how many people pick up big baits, hoping for the "magic bullet" and they don't catch a single thing? It is a craze for most and it's certainly not for everyone. You have to understand how to use the baits or you'll just be the next guy that I buy discounted big baits from... Here is your proof, not in a tank. You're welcome.

Do the articles talk about how bass ambush their prey? Apply it to the baitfish you DO have in your lake. All those you mentioned are baitfish to me. Anything a bass can and does eat, to me, is prey. Bass will use travel routes, ambush points, cover and structure whether they are chasing shad or other baitfish. You just have to know how to apply it to your specific lake.

Referring to cartridges as 'bullets' and magazines as 'clips' are two of my most enraging pet peeves. If you aren't 12 years old, you should know the difference between 'bullets' and cartridges. Snobby and cranky today. MOM overload? ;D

It's not the price itself necessarily. It's the rapid ascent from "dirt cheap" to a considerable expense that really gets me. I'm 31, started driving when I was 16. Gas was under $1 when I first drove and last year it touched $4 near me and greatly exceeded it other places.
