Gotcha. I know you are fond of the paddle tail tubes, try throwing some Megastrike (or whatever "greasy" attractant you prefer) on the sides of those and see if your bait doesn't get torn up from the fish's mouth a little less than it does now. I have noticed it help greatly when throwing the big soft plastic baits, not only in getting the hook into the fish's mouth but also for prolonging the life of (relatively) expensive baits. I'm not following you here Roger. The purpose of the lubrication (I use Megastrike) is to allow the bait to slide through and over cover better, without resistance, as well as helping the plastic slide out of a fish's mouth a bit easier. The way I read your reply is you feel lubricating plastics leads to the bait sliding on the hook? :-? Just trying to clarify...

Mattlures U2 gill, Flat tail, male color. Just a different suggestion that will sit upright on it's nose, not flat like the Lateral Perch. You can't beat the realism of the bait either.

lead free jigs is made out from tungsten like keitech model jig 1 or keitech football I don't think the Megastrike jigs are made of Tungsten. I believe the non-lead jigs are made from tin.

Sean, 36+ is a HUGE musky for a lake that when I was growing up the PA DCNR and PFBC insisted that there were NONE in the lake. You should see the size of the walleyes in that place where there are NONE. ;D I was night fishing there once, drowning worms for catfish with one of my buddies from back home. Guy throwing a jitterbug about 30 yds away gets freakin' BLOWN UP and lands one over 40". The park ranger had a tough time explaining that one away. ;D

You won't see me up there until at least two weeks after the trout opener. I've seen that lake get turned into a froth by all the Powerbait dunkers. ;D You ought to see some of the muskies in that place too. 36"+, no problem.

Local ponds are ice free down here in South Central. Haven't checked any of the local electric only lakes, but I'm sure they are ice free as well. Someone hit me up with a date to fish Canoe Creek. Im sure my parents would like to see me and I always wanted to throw the big trout lures up there for bass and musky.
