  1. I'll show you places where they spawn
  2. LOL, I was thinking of posting that as I just read it the other day. Good stuff. May I also add that "making repeated casts" IMO is not the same as casting beyond the bed from multiple angles and dragging it throug the area. The laws are so ambiguous here that they would not likely hold up too well if challenged.
  3. I'm there with you, just stating my argument if I were to ever get called on it. I've let a bait sit in a bed for quite some time on a single cast. Honestly, the guys around here are pretty cool especially if they know you are releasing the fish. Oddly enough, my biggest bass have been caught in July and August. The one in my avatar is a fish from the end of July. I would LOVE to see her sitting on a bed at the beginning of May. No telling how big she might be.
  4. Not for me, but I like the smell of pipe tobacco. I think LowBudgetHooker has some pipe experience.
  5. Bed fishing is not illegal. Bed fishing while making repeated casts is illegal. Doesnt mean I can't pitch to it and let it soak.
  6. Website or in store? That's odd for them to carry stuff like that.
  7. Hard to tell honestly. Could be before or after. That female isnt locked on the bed, so you could be on either side of the process.
  8. She won't be there as long as the male will. Might be already gone from the bed, but she won't be far away. Check out the first dropoff away from the bed.
  9. Most definitely beds. That fish on the right in the last pic would be your female.
  10. Glad you got to catch one, regardless of the weight. Congrats.
  11. I've seen this livewell. He has more than three fish.
  12. I like the Rage line for a more active presentation. The bait I use most is the Flappin Hog though.
  13. Or.... I would like him to invite me to fish those Florida sulphur pits with him. I can wear headphones and listen to music. LOL
  14. LOL, I think the cold is getting to you...
  15. The big fish you see caught in the southern states tend to be longer, thicker through the body. Randall Kirkpatrick's big fish are a good example of that body type. I know he has caught 30" fish. Cali fish appear to be more rounded and really gorged on food when they get big.
  16. I have a fishing buddy that keeps swearing to wear a Tennessee hat and throw a Dancing Eel all day long. I politely informed him to also bring his swim trunks if those two things were to occur.
  17. Yep, that's the G rated version of my NC-17 expression exactly J!
  18. http://bigbassdreams.com/standard/big-bass-dreams-turn-big-bass-reality/ Dedication, perseverance and skill. This dude's legit.
  19. LOL, how about you don't throw jerkbaits and I'll lay off the swimbaits.... Yeah, that's what I thought.
  20. Jig and a swimbait for pre, spawn and post.
  21. Caught 4 yesterday, three on a jerkbait and one on the Deps 175 Slide Swimmer. Water is still crazy cold here, just at 40 degrees.
  22. With as much as you post that link to Davey Hite winning with the Berkley Hollow Belly, I'm surprised you didn't fish that. What did you catch your fish on? Any idea what the big fish was caught on?
  23. Like Tom asked, need to know what you plan on throwing the baits with. Rod and reel most importantly. Line could also depend on what you want to throw.
  24. Oh, I'm ice-free currently. I believe by next weekend the water will finally be in the 40's. While I like the swimbait bite, I'm not opposed to throwing whatever is necessary for a big bite. I do like to wreck stuff with a jig rod too. LOL
  25. You're a freakin' wrecking machine with a jig rod Steve. Unreal.
