  1. Surprised they haven't received a cease and desist with that tail...
  2. Thanks John! I've had to fend off the "my Instagram filter does the same thing" argument a couple times. No worries, comes with the territory.
  3. I faced that same issue for years. Decided to start building rods and it is keeping me occupied nicely.
  4. Lol 250 and a hudd
  5. Thanks Gary!
  6. @K_Mac It's really new. I've been fielding all the questions and messages. There will be info on there soon! Thanks man.
  7. Very cool @slonezp! I dig that a lot!
  8. I know which ones you're referring to. Similar is a stretch when compared to this. Thanks for looking. @rv8apilot Shoot me a message on here. I tried to send one to you but it's not letting me. Thanks man.
  9. I had been doing some brainstorming for unique ideas that will allow guys to commemorate a catch, trip, PB, etc. My wife is a photographer and one of the services she offers her clients is something she's dubbed "print to paint" and after seeing her work on various portraits, it clicked that some guys may be interested in having this done to their own pictures. Replicas and mounts are great, yes, but this is another option that I feel is a viable alternative at a lower cost. She recently worked on a picture of my PB and went over the entire photograph with the technique. I just received the printed portrait yesterday and it turned out awesome! The final product arrives with raised brush strokes, just like a painting. Below is the original photo along with a pic I took of the finished product. I also included a close up of the brushing effect on the portrait. The example is 10X15 and other sizes are available. Framing and canvas print is also an option Let me know what you think! Feel free to message me for inquiries on having a picture of yours done. It's not just limited to bass either or even fishing for that matter. She can do this with ANY picture. Hunting, outdoors, anything. www.laurenrhcampbellphotography.com Thanks to Glenn and BR for letting me post!
  10. If there is a "guaranteed" bait to catch fish, that is easy to throw and won't break the bank it's the Mattlures Hardgill. I fish all the baits mentioned above and all are legit, but IMO the hardgill is tough to beat anywhere in the country.
  11. I always dig the chubby ones...
  12. Haven't logged in for a while. Thanks for the words man.
  13. 5 is tough man as many have put good fish in the boat for me. I'm not big on rules so I'll just list some: Hardgill, 250, 8" Hudd, rat (take your pick), Pat's Perch, Toxic Baits wake and crank & Wade Hoggs, OG HPH All have their time and place.
  14. Smallmouth also tend to slash at baits in an attempt to disable/kill the baitfish. If you are fishing a traditional single hook/Tx rig, you will greatly decrease your hookups. Having that treble on the bottom is a great benefit, especially when dealing with brown fish.
  15. This. I have some Water Wolf footage on my Instagram page of some dirty water swimbaits. Trust me, they'll find it.
  16. You've got a considerably higher chance of them committing to it fully further out in your cast. Remember, if you can see them, they can see you. The REALLY nice thing about followers is that you've got them to reveal themselves. You've now been given another piece of the puzzle: their location.
  17. All you have to see is "Reaction Strike" and if you're even remotely knowledgeable regarding swimbaits, you will steer clear. Just heed the warning and thank me later, for real.
  18. Very much a waste of money. Good swimbaits (for the most part) cost what they do for a reason.
  19. The rat, bluegill and Jr should be fine on that rod (given that the rod ratings are accurate, unfortunately many are not). The BBZ 1 may sit at the upper end of that rod and even a lob cast may make it feel underpowered. The nice thing about them, assuming they are floaters like the rat, is you can go get them if you would happen to snap them off on a cast. Stick with the baits you have and fish them, even when you aren't getting bit. Fish them in places you know fish live. It's VERY difficult to learn the nuances of big baits if you are throwing them without confidence as it's very easy to go back to what you know (jig, tx rig, cranks, etc).
  20. I wish guys would stop using it. LOL I don't get excited over many things non-swimbait related. The plopper would be one that got me giggidy giggidy.
  21. I mostly opt for slower sinking baits. It's always easier to make something sink faster.
  22. They are great swimming baits. My only gripe is the silicone repair process. I REALLY wish super glue worked on this type of bait, especially to hold treble hooks in place.
  23. This
  24. LOL, still love seeing the "that's for musky," "you fishing for sharks?," and the ever popular "my bass aren't big enough to eat anything besides a senko" crowd doubt the effectiveness of bigger lures. Carry on but watch once these things get in the hands of people who believe in them....
