  1. Sometimes, I like to tie the tail a little longer using red bucktail fibers in the middle. I actually like that it extends the body on some of my jerkbaits. I used to tie flies, but got out of it because its easier to tie dressed trebles. There is a big difference in a No. 2 Treble hook and a size 26 trico fly LOL
  2. It was a bear to get the casting seat to expose the blank properly and make it look right. I probably won't use it again. The new ACS casting seats from Fuji are interesting. I like the way they feel in my hand, it lets you wrap two fingers around the handle while palming the reel. My next one will use that seat. I bought a couple of these to fit the blanks I bought. We'll see. Ronnie Your customs are going to be one of the many highlights of the Guntersville trip that I am looking forward to. I cant wait to try one of those spiral wraps you talked about.
  3. There ya go. Thats the way you do that.....LOL LBH has taught you well young Jedi...
  4. Hmm....interestingly enough, you have just described me as well LOL
  5. Nope, I dont see "rude" in your name anywhere? : Just asked for an explanation..... Sorry, in a grumpy mood today. > It doesn't really have a story with it. I was joining a boat repair/restoration forum, and I needed a handle. I am a bass fisherman, and a male, so that fits. I just threw a one on there for the heck of it. It stuck on all the rest of the forums to, as I can't remember more than one anyway. Dont worry about it, it happens. Thanks for all the replies fellas (I didnt see any of the ladies post ) I always like reading some of the ways people got their names.
  6. Hmm....seems we have some jokers online today.....
  7. Nope, I dont see "rude" in your name anywhere? : Just asked for an explanation.....
  8. There was a thread like this sometime last year and I figured with so many new members and the new year starting, this would be a good one to resurrect. SPEEDBEAD comes from a discontinued Terminator spinnerbait, my favorite lure since I started fishing for Ol' Mossyback. Let's hear your explanations!!!! Wayne
  9. Dude, cheer up a little bit. Just think how much worse life could be. Like I told the kids I worked with and the same thing Muddy tells his.... AT LEAST YOU WOKE UP BREATHING TODAY Wayne
  10. I thought it was a great movie. That scene where he shines the light on those things standing around in a circle still gives me the creeps!! LOL
  11. In short, Thank You. I really think this place helps me get through the daily grind of my job. Its nice to sit back, take a break and read about everyone and their outings and/or personal lives. Gives it a nice little "home" feel. You know what I mean.... Be safe and I cant wait to meet everyone in Alabama. Wayne
  12. Thats a cool list. Thanks. Wayne
  13. Just in time for the Gville trip......greeeeeeeat. LOL Darn Monkey
  14. I will be sitting at home in the "Man Cave" watching TV and waiting for the fiance to get home from work. Hope everyone has a great time tonight, take a DD with you if you are drinking. Be safe. Wayne
  15. That whole "You can die in a car" argument is tired and old. All sports carry with them some kind of risk. There are people earning a ton of money looking to prevent the next concussion in football or the next torn rotator cuff in baseball. There are also people out there trying to prevent you from dying in an auto accident by making cars more resistant to impacts from other vehicles or objects. Stay in school, learn something (grammar ;D) become successful and watch all the Darwin nominees try to out-do each other. I, too, have spoken :
  16. As the Joker would say.....Wait til they get a load of me!!!! haha, j/k.....I just hope I get to stick one, any one..... LOL
  17. Tin.... Lead = Bullets for war Old batteries are really hot items with salvagers around my area right now.
  18. Its Cali, I am not sure they know what Carharts are : Fourbizz is in construction....he might have a pair lying around LOL
  19. GSP has a suspect chin, as Matt Serra proved undeniably. I am online looking for deep fryer recipes right now. All my boys are coming over to see Chuck get back in the groove.
  20. There is a guy in my town that has one of the black ones. I am not exactly "small" but that is exactly how I felt standing next to that thing. Absolutely huge!!!!!
  21. For some reason, I dont really feel too bad for you LOL :
  22. Shoot it through a paper target so the arrow passes completely through the paper. This will allow you to see if the arrow is kicking its tail in any given direction. You want a hole in the paper where you can only see where the arrow cut through (round hole) and where the vanes sliced through (three little slits). Any tearing of the paper will indicate you arrows are "kicking" As far as the peep goes....I shoot the biggest one I can fit in the string and I dont use the tube. I have buddies who shoot with the tube and love it. I just dont want that thing snapping and hitting me in the eyeball OUCH!!!! I have learned to look around the occasional twisting string and the larger peep allows me to do that. Wayne
  23. I think you are going to find that most of the hollow bodies have a less than perfect hook up ratio. That said, the SPRO bronzeyes seem to be popular. The Furbits also look like a decent bait (hate that name for some reason). There is not too much variance in hook placement w/ the hollow frogs. Personally, I prefer one of the soft plastic toads available....
  24. I own a Symetre, the only Shimano in my home. I absolutely love it and would consider buying another one should the need arise. Those Supremes are tiiiiiiight looking though....
  25. The BPS Extreme reels are on sale right now and probably have the most options for that price range. They offer a cranking (5.4:1), regular (6.4:1) and a high speed (7.1:1) all in both right and left hand models. I know recently you have sworn off BPS products, but these are said to be bullet proof for the most part.
